The first game on the board in Matchday 7 happened to be the largest surprise as West Ham United (+304) dropped Manchester United 3-1 as a live home underdog.

There were six clean sheets posted on Saturday and that effort helped the ‘under’ go 6-1-1.

Liverpool posted a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the marquee game of the week. The outcome paid +245 for the tie and the ‘under’ (3) was never threatened.

Burnley (+225) captured a 2-1 road win over Cardiff City on Sunday, cashing as a road underdog. All three goals came in the final 45 minutes as the ‘over’ (2 ½) connected.

Bournemouth (+140) posted a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace in Monday’s night game.

Notable Trends

-- Liverpool’s perfect win record came to an end after last week’s draw to Chelsea. The Reds and Manchester City both sit at 6-1-0 on the season, tied for first place.

-- The Citizens and Reds are both tied with the best defense, each club surrendering just three goals in seven games.

-- Arsenal’s winning streak is up to five games after starting the season with two setbacks.

-- After playing to back-to-back scoreless draws, Cardiff City has allowed 14 goals in its last four games.

Bundesliga – Germany

Hertha Berlin (+992) started Matchday 6 with a huge upset as it not only beat Bayern Munich but it posted a clean sheet in its 2-0 win as a home underdog.

Borussia Dortmund (+172) trailed 2-0 at halftime to Bayer Leverkusen but pulled off an improbable 4-2 road win. The combined six goals were the largest outcome in Matchday 6.

Ten of the 12 teams in action on Saturday scored at least one goal and seven put up two-plus, which helped the ‘over’ go 4-1-1.

Favorites closed the weekend strong as Eintracht Frankfurt (-108) and Augsburg (-110) both notched 4-1 wins at home over Hannover 86 and SC Freiburg respectively. The combined five goals in each contest easily cashed ‘over’ tickets.

Notable Trends

-- Borussia Dortmund (4-2-0) jumped to first place in the table with 14 points and it remains the only team in league play not to lose a game.

-- The struggles for Bayern Munich continued last week with a 0-1-1 record after winning its first four games.

-- Hannover 96 (0-2-4) is the only Bundesliga squad not to capture a win and its goal differential (-8) is ranked last.

Favorites dominated Saturday’s action with a 3-0 record as Roma (+159), Juventus (-116) and Inter Milan (-250) all won by exactly two goals at home.

The ‘chalk’ barrage continued in Matchday 7 on Sunday and Monday as favorites went 7-0 straight up.

The weekend card saw no draws occur but there were plenty of goals posted and only four clean sheets over the 10-game slate.

-- Similar to PSG in Ligue 1, Juventus (7-0) has been perfect with seven wins in seven matches.

-- Frosinone broke through with its first goal of the season on Sunday but it remains in 19th place behind a terrible goal differential (-17).

-- SPAL and Bologna remain the best ‘under’ wagers (5-2) in the league while Sassuolo owns the best ‘over’ mark (5-2).

Ligue 1 – France

St Etienne (-104) blanked AS Monaco 2-0 on Friday as home favorite.

Paris Saint-Germain (-333) and Strasbourg (-119) both posted 3-0 wins on Saturday as home favorites over Nice and Dijon respectively.

Of the five games on Saturday, only one match saw both teams to score which occurred in a 1-1 draw between FC Nantes and Lyon. The tie returned a healthy price (+474) as well.

Sunday’s action watched favorites and underdogs go 1-1 with one draw. Lille (+205) pulled off a surprise with a 3-0 home win over Marseille.

-- PSG (8-0) remains one of just two teams in the top five European leagues to earn three points (24) in all of its matches this season.

-- After snapping its losing streak with a midweek draw, Guingamp (+280) captured its first win of the season in Matchday 8 with a 1-0 win over Angers.

-- After allowing a four-spot to PGS on Wednesday, Reims got back to its grinding ways and posted a scoreless draw (0-0), its third of the season. 

-- Since dropping its opener to Dijon at home, Montpellier has posted a 4-3-0 record in its last seven games.

La Liga – Spain

The largest upset of Matchday 7 came on Sunday as Valladolid (+555) captured a 1-0 road win over Villareal.

-- Barcelona and Real Madrid both have 14 points on the season but the La Liga powers have both gone 0-1-1 in their last two matches.

-- Real (5-2) and Barca (4-2-1) have also been solid ‘under’ bets this season.

-- Sevilla has strung together three straight wins and the offense has posted 12 goals during this span.

-- After losing its opener, Real Betis is unbeaten (3-3-0) in its last six games, which has been helped with five clean sheets

-- Valencia (1-5-1) leads the league with five draws, three of them coming at home. Total bettors should note that the club also owns a 6-1 ‘under’ mark.
