Switzerland vs. Spain Picks & Predictions

Spain have scored ten goals in their last two games, having scored just once in their first two. Switzerland are more open than normal and that will make for an entertaining game. Euro 2020 has been consistently higher scoring than bookmakers have predicted and they may have made a mistake here by pricing over 2.5 as big as 10/11.

Ferran Torres looks a nice price for a first goalscorer. He has improved as the tournament has gone on and is pushing for a start here. He is 11/2.

Betting Odds - Switzerland vs. Spain

Spain briefly became outright favorites to win Euro 2020 after favorites France were knocked out. They are now 3/1 behind England but benefit from a reasonably kind quarter-final draw against Switzerland.

They are 4/6 to win the game in 90 minutes while the Swiss, who knocked out France on penalties in the tournament’s biggest shock so far, are 9/2. The draw is 11/4. Spain are 3/1 to qualify with Switzerland 12/5. Over and under 2.5 goals are both priced at 10/11.

Switzerland Betting Outlook

Both these teams’ last 16 matches followed a bizarrely similar pattern in 90 minutes. Switzerland came back from 3-1 down in the last ten minutes to draw 3-3 with France, while Spain allowed Croatia back into the game from the same situation before winning 5-3 after extra time. Switzerland showed incredible spirit to come back against France and were deserved winners in the end.

They have scored six in their last two matches and look far more exciting going forward than they have at previous tournaments. Centre-forward Haris Seferovic has finally brought his club form to a major tournament and has scored three goals.

Spain Betting Outlook

Spain’s journey to the quarter-finals has been equally rocky, but they should have beaten Croatia inside 90 minutes. In extra time they could have wilted following Croatia’s demoralizing last gasp equalizer, but their superior quality shone through and they will take great confidence from their attacking performances.

Álvaro Morata, Pablo Sarabia and Torres all netting three apiece. They will probably make up the front three on Friday.
