Gilbert has given up 116 hits, 16 home runs, and 36 walks plus has thrown 120 strikeouts in 128.1 innings. The Mariners are 3-2 in Gilbert’s last five outings. In Gilbert’s last game vs. the Yankees on Aug. 2, he gave up six earned runs and three home runs in 5.1 innings. 

Prior to the contests on Aug. 7, the Yankees ranked first in home runs (185) and RBI (544), second in slugging percentage (.444) and on-base percentage (.330), and 14th in batting average (.244). Right fielder Aaron Judge leads the Yankees in batting average (.299), home runs (43), RBI (93), and hits (118). Third baseman DJ LeMahieu has a team-best .391 on-base percentage. First baseman Anthony Rizzo is second on the Yankees in home runs (27) and RBI (66).
