The news came late Sunday night: He changed his mind. Billy Donovan changed his freakin' mind. Wow!
It probably won't be official until Monday afternoon, but that's just a matter of paper work.
Donovan's dynastic tenure at Florida will continue. He apparently changed his mind Saturday, just minutes before Florida AD Jeremy Foley was to meet with VCU coach Anthony Grant.
When Steve Spurrier bolted for the NFL, Foley failed to land Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Denver's Mike Shanahan, inexplicably settling for Ron Zook.
It was a terrible hire, drawing heavy criticism from anyone with a clue.
This time around when he lost a legendary coach, Foley had more success. He got Donovan to change his mind. Again, wow!
What a coup. What a shocker. As it turns out, Foley and Florida have more magic than Orlando.
