WNBA Betting History
The first four seasons of the WNBA was owned by the now-defunct Houston Comets. Cynthia Cooper dominated the league during the stretch of 1997-2001, while leading the Comets to four straight championships. The New York Liberty lost three times during that span to Houston, as the Liberty has not returned to the finals since 2002.

The finals round became a best-of-five series in 2005 when Sacramento (now-defunct) topped Connecticut in four games. The Western Conference has won the past five championships, which includes Minnesota's 3-2 victory over Los Angeles in the 2017 finals.
