First, the lastest on the college coaching front...
--After losing out on Paul Johnson to Georgia Tech, Duke has made Vandy's Bobby Johnson its top target. I guess the Blue Devils have a decent shot if they offer more money than Vandy is willing to match. Obviously, coaching at Vandy and Duke present similar challenges, but Johnson might conclude that it's easier to beat Maryland, N.C. St., UNC -- and yes, even FSU and Miami -- than Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and LSU.
--I have no clue what Arkansas is trying to do at this point. Maybe wait and see if Bobby Petrino has any interest when the Falcons' miserable season concludes? Brian Kelly from Cincy? The Razorbacks could do a lot worse than Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow.
--Washington St. appears set to hire Eastern Washington coach Paul Wulff.
--Now please forgive me for some shameless self-promo. After easily cashing the Saints and the 'over' last night, I'm on a 19-9 run (68%!) in the NFL since Nov. 18, leading "dime players" to $9,100 of profit. --Finally, a few thoughts on tonight's NBA card after cashing with Atlanta and Miami last night, both of whom won outright as double-digit underdogs. Keep in mind that LaMarcus Aldridge is "out" for Portland, which would've otherwise looked good catching 14 at Utah tonight.
--Atlanta is in a back-to-back spot tonight vs. Toronto. Joe Johnson (48) and Josh Smith (43) both logged heavy minutes last night. Josh Childress (groin) and Zaza Pachulia (concussion) remains "questionable."
--Cleveland's LeBron James and San Antonio's Tim Duncan are expected to play tonight. Meanwhile, Clippers veteran point guard Sam Cassell is "questionable."
Good luck with your bets!
