After the damage done to the Georgia Dome on Friday night, Georgia and Kentucky will play Saturday at Alexander Memorial Coliseum -- where Georgia Tech plays -- at noon Eastern.
Thirty minutes afterwards, Arkansas will play Tennessee in the SEC semifinals.
Later in the night, in what this guy believes is an unprecedented event in modern basketball history, the UK-UGA winner will be forced to play a second game in the same day against Mississippi State. That game would tip at 9:00 Eastern.
For conversation's sake, let's say Georgia wins. The Dawgs, who can only qualify for the NCAA Tournament -- and therefore save the job of their coach Dennis Felton who is on the hot seat -- by winning the tourney, would be forced to play its best player Sundiata Gaines for 80 minutes, and then ask 'em to turn around and play another 40 minutes in the finals Sunday.
I don't know that I have the solution to this issue. But I know that UGA, if it beats UK, will be facing unfair circumstances, and that would be wrong. And if I'm family and/or friends with UGA seniors Gaines and Dave Bliss, I'm absolutely livid.
