I've got an SEC Rewind with a bunch of Bonus Nuggets on the way by the end of the day. But for now, here's the updated Top 30 from yours truly...
1-Florida 2-USC 3-Oklahoma 4-Georgia 5-Missouri 6-LSU 7-Texas 8-Penn St. 9-Wisconsin 10-Alabama 11-Auburn 12-Wake Forest 13-South Florida 14-Texas Tech 15-BYU 16-Clemson 17-Ohio St. 18-Fresno St. 19-Kansas 20-Utah 21-Boise St. 22-Virginia Tech 23-East Carolina 24-Oklahoma St. 25-Ga. Tech 26-Miami 27-Michigan St. 28-Illinois 29-Vanderbilt 30-South Carolina
Offensive Player of the Week: Michigan St. RB Javon Ringer -- 39 carries for 201 yards and two touchdowns in the Spartans' 23-7 spread-covering 'W' over Notre Dame.
Defensive Player of the Week: Vandy junior free safety Ryan Hamilton -- three interceptions, including a pick-six when Vandy trailed 10-0 and Ole Miss was in Commodore territory. Hamilton also had a TD-saving tackle in the fourth quarter.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Florida's Brandon James -- James started the game with a kick return beyond midfield that led to a short TD drive. He also had a 78-yard punt return for a TD in UF's 30-6 clubbing of Tennessee.
Goat of the Week: FSU quarterback Christian Ponder -- Since when did FSU have to "guarantee" a victory in a home game against Wake Forest? That's what Ponder did last week. However, his first pass was an interception and he eventually got the hook in a 12-3 loss. Ponder was 6-for-18 with three interceptions.
--Best wishes to Ball St. WR Dante Love, who suffered a career-ending spinal cord injury in the Cardinals' win at Indiana. Love was leading the nation in receiving yards when he went down. The good news is that after more than five hours of surgery, Love was able to move his arms and legs, and he is expected to be able to live a normal life. The bad news is that he won't be on the field again for Ball St., which is 4-0 and a serious contender to win the MAC.
