There are those that look at Bobby Bowden as an iconic figure and there are others that don't. Loyal readers know where I stand (the latter if you're just joining us).
As we watch Bowden's demise play out before our eyes, let's link you up to some reading material.
First of all, Ann Bowden is pissed. In a small town like Tallahassee where it's hard to call out the legendeary head coach, long-time Tallahassee Democrat columnist Steve Ellis called for the end of Bowden's tenure after Saturday's 28-21 loss at Boston College. Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel did the same.
Paul Finebaum of the Mobile Press Register did it seven years ago and again last week.
The defeat left the Seminoles at 2-3 overall and 0-2 in ACC play. They've never lost their first two games since joining the ACC. They haven't been 2-3 since 1976. In short, they suck and it's been that way for nearly a decade now.
On Wednesday morning, Bianchi chimes in again with a column discussing Bowden's betrayal of FSU and his selfishness throughout the last half-dozen years.
