Minnesota Lynx name new head coach
December 8, 2009
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -The Minnesota Lynx have hired former Detroit assistant coach and general manager Cheryl Reeve as the team's new head coach.
Reeve has spent the past nine years with the Detroit Shock, helping them to three WNBA championships. She came highly recommended by former Shock head coach and current Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Bill Laimbeer.
Lynx executive vice president Roger Griffith says Reeve's confidence and experience in a championship organization set her apart.
Reeve says she loves the offensive talent on the Lynx and feels that the team will be in the playoffs this year and many years going forward.
