Handicapping Green Bay (10)
Check out more NFL Future Odds at!

The Green Bay Packers are coming off their worst season under head coach Mike McCarthy, as they won just seven games.  The Packers have won less than 10 games just twice since 2009 and in both of those seasons Aaron Rodgers missed substantial time due to injury.  Rodgers is back and healthy for the 2018 season and the win total for Green Bay is listed at 10.  Will the Packers go over or under that number this season?

2018 Green Bay Packers Win Total - per
Over 10 (+100)
Under 10 (-135)

The Packers will have a bit of a different look in 2018, as gone is long-time GM Ted Thompson, as he was replaced by Brian Gutekunst.  It didn’t take long for Gutekunst to make some aggressive moves, as he let Jordy Nelson walk away, signed Jimmy Graham in free agency and replaced defensive coordinator Dom Capers with Mike Pettine.  The Packers also signed Muhammad Wilkerson and took two cornerbacks early in the NFL Draft in Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson.

The Packers have a favorable early season schedule, as they get four of their first six games at home. You can make a case the Packers could start 6-0, as their two road games are at Washington and Detroit. The Packers need to get off to a fast start because they have a very tough stretch in late October into November, as they travel to Los Angeles, New England, Seattle and Minnesota. Four road games in five weeks are not easy for any team.

2018 Green Bay Packers Schedule Analysis

Week 1 (Sept. 9): vs. Chicago
The regular season opener for the Packers should be a win. The Bears are improved, but they still rarely win at Lambeau.

Week 2 (Sept. 16): vs. Minnesota
The Vikings are the main threat to the Packers in the NFC North, but this game is at Lambeau and the Packers should win.

Week 3 (Sept. 23): at Washington
The first road game of the season for Green Bay looks like a winnable one, as the Packers visit the Redskins and their new quarterback Alex Smith.

Week 4 (Sept. 30): vs. Buffalo
There is no reason to expect the Bills to be competitive on the road in this game and the Packers should be 4-0.

Week 5 (Oct. 7): at Detroit
The Packers could have a tough test against a Detroit team that is coached by Matt Patricia.

Week 6 (Oct. 15): vs. San Francisco
One of the toughest home games of the season for the Packers could be this game against a San Francisco team that looks to be on the way up.

Week 7 (Oct. 21): Bye

Week 8 (Oct. 28): at Los Angeles Rams
The gauntlet for the Packers begins in Los Angeles, as Green Bay goes up against the high-powered Los Angeles offense.

Week 9 (Nov. 4): at New England
It is Rodgers vs. Brady in one of the best matchups of the season. This could be a second straight road loss for Green Bay.

Week 10 (Nov.11): vs. Miami
This is a huge letdown spot for the Packers and also a sandwich spot, as Green Bay plays at Seattle on Thursday.

Week 11 (Nov. 15): at Seattle
The Packers look to be a better team than Seattle this season, and this could be a road win for Green Bay.

Week 12 (Nov. 25): at Minnesota
Green Bay gets some extra rest after playing on Thursday. This game could go a long way toward deciding the NFC North.

Week 13 (Dec. 2): vs. Arizona
The Packers should not have any trouble against an Arizona team that normally struggles on the road.

Week 14 (Dec. 9): vs. Atlanta
This should be a shootout between Rodgers and Ryan and Rodgers normally wins shootouts.

Week 15 (Dec. 16): at Chicago
The Packers have done well in recent years against the Bears, but this will not be an easy road test late in the season.

Week 16 (Dec. 23): at New York Jets
The Packers are the superior team and they should be able to win this road game against the Jets.

Week 17 (Dec. 30): Detroit
The regular season finale for the Packers should be a home win, as the Lions will likely be out of playoff contention.

2018 Green Bay Packers Season Win Total Pick

If Rodgers stays healthy there is every reason to believe the Packers will win 11 of 12 games and go over their win total of 10. The schedule for Green Bay is favorable, and Green Bay should be a Super Bowl contender in 2018.
