Oft-injured Hill to have surgery
September 4, 2008
ATLANTA (AP) -Washington Nationals pitcher Shawn Hill will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Friday.
Hill, who went 1-5 with a 5.83 ERA in 12 starts this season, will be operated on by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla.
Hill has been hampered by injuries throughout his career. The right-hander missed the 2005 season after having Tommy John surgery, and missed time in 2006 with soreness in his right elbow.
Last season he was limited to 16 starts by a shoulder injury and a compressed radial nerve in his right forearm.
