LVSC Rankings - Saints marching

We're starting to learn more and more about the NFL through the first four weeks of the season, as several teams in the top five of the Las Vegas Sports Consultants rankings have changed spots. The team in the number one spot stayed the same, but there was a shakeup among the next four positions.

The Giants remained steady in the top spot after their victory at Kansas City last week. New York improved to 4-0 with the win, as the road remains easy, at least for another week, hosting 1-3 Oakland. The G-Men will have a nice challenge next week, travelling to the Big Easy to battle the undefeated Saints.

Speaking of Sean Payton's team, New Orleans knocked off the previously unbeaten Jets at the Superdome with two defensive touchdowns to move into the second spot this week. Even though Drew Brees did not put up the numbers against the Jets he was accustomed to the first three weeks, the Saints are still in control of the NFC South heading into the bye week.

The Patriots stayed in third after beating the Ravens, 27-21. New England, after starting slow against Buffalo and struggling against the Jets, is now 3-1 on the season. Bill Belichick's team heads to the Mile High City this week to battle his former protégé, Josh McDaniels and the 4-0 Broncos.

The Colts jumped two positions from 6th to 4th after a 34-17 thumping of the Seahawks. Indianapolis is one of five undefeated teams in the league, while covering each of its last three games. Peyton Manning and the Colts take on the winless Titans in Nashville on Sunday night.

Baltimore's loss at New England pushed the Ravens from 2nd to 5th in this week's rankings. John Harbaugh's team still ranks in the top three of total offense despite the defeat to the Pats, as well as third in points per game. The Ravens return home this week to host the 3-1 Bengals.

The Broncos made the biggest leap this week from 23rd to 18th after their comeback victory over the Cowboys. Denver has allowed a league-low 26 points this season, hosting New England this Sunday.

The Bills took the largest tumble from 19th to 24th following their embarrassing performance at Miami, falling to the Dolphins, 38-10. Buffalo's offense has stalled the last two weeks, scoring just 17 points. Dick Jauron's team comes in as a home favorite this week against the winless Browns, who traded wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the Jets on Wednesday.

Below is LVSC's NFL Power Rankings for Week 5.
