theScore Welcome Offer

Generally, theScore sportsbook offers a welcome bonus, but compared to others we’ve reviewed, it’s not really anything special. Once you make your first deposit, you’ll be able to get your first bet back if you lose up to $100. This is typically referred to as a risk-free bet.

Interestingly, you can only get the risk-free bet if the bet amount matches the first deposit. So, in order to really make the most out of this welcome offer, we recommend making the maximum deposit and the maximum bet. Even if your first deposit is $100, if your first bet is only $10 and you lose, you get $10.

As far as welcome bonuses go, we’ve seen so much better. We’re hoping that theScore, a new sportsbook in New Jersey, gets a bit savvier when it comes to competitive bonuses.

theScore Sportsbook Promo Code
(T&C's Apply, 21+, Only in NJ)

The bookmaker does offer a few promotions and bonus bets - with no theScore bonus code required. However, it’s usually free bets on specific events, and these promotions don’t usually exceed $10 in free bets.

You’re not going to really pad your playing cash with any of the promotions offered by theScore -- it seems like these promotions are more like test bets, free $10 (or, up to $100 in the case of the welcome offer) bets that give you a chance to bet a small amount on a specific team for little risk.

These additional promotions are less than impressive -- we’re hoping that the team over at theScore adds a bonus code for a 100% deposit match or something equally worthwhile.

How to Sign Up at theScore Sportsbook

With the sports betting laws and regulations changing all the time it means that there is going to be even more choice for the users. That’s why new sites and apps – like theScore sportsbook become available to use.

To bet with theScore sportsbook you will need to sign up for a customer account. The good news is that this is a very simple process and will not slow down your sports betting in any way.

Here is a quick guide to registering with theScore sportsbook.

  1. theScore sportsbook is designed to be used as an app. If you would prefer it can be accessed on a desktop computer but it is definitely optimized for mobile use. So first thing to do is download theScore sportsbook app onto your iOS or Android device.
  2. You will then need to sign up for an account, providing your name, address, phone number and email.
  3. You will also need to choose some security log in details as well as confirm your age.
  4. The app uses geolocation technology to ascertain where you are. This is because mobile sports betting is not allowed in all states. Your email verification will prove that you are able to use theScore sportsbook.

How to Bet with theScore

Once you have downloaded theScore sportsbook app and signed up for a new customer account you will be all ready to place some bets.

As sports betting regulations have changed so dramatically over the past year or so there is a good chance that you may not be used to placing bets online. Don’t worry – it is very easy to do and you won’t need to know any jargon or complex betting terminology to enjoy your time at theScore sportsbook.

You will be able to see the wide variety of sports betting markets at theScore sportsbook. There will usually be a number of highlighted options – as well as popular markets. But you can choose to bet on anything that is covered by theScore – and you can even use the search option if you can’t find it straight away.

Once you have found the event that you want to bet on, just click on the odds – or price – next to your choice. Your selection will automatically update on the betslip. All the details will be listed and you will then have to decide on the amount of your stake. At this point you will also be able to see your potential winning returns. Just confirm the bet and that will be your wager placed.

You can check on how your bets are going in your account section of theScore sportsbook.

theScore Sportsbook Features

Betting Markets / Available Sports

Basically. theScore sportsbook has a well-known reputation-- its sister site, theScore sports news site, has been reviewed as one of the best in the country. Naturally, theScore would want to please fans of a variety of sports, so they’ve got coverage for almost every major sports market.

Certain New Jersey sportsbooks boast a ridiculous lineup of bettable events, including darts, golf, Australian Rugby, and more. While theScore sportsbook doesn’t have as many sports offered as others we’ve reviewed, what it does offer is solid representation for all your favorite major sports, including NHL hockey.

We expect to see a rollout of even more sports in the app’s future, so we’re giving this sportsbook and its variety of available sports a 3 out of 5.

theScore Odds

Well, theScore sportsbook has relatively competitive odds, on par with most of the sites we’ve reviewed if not better. While lacking in promotions and frills, theScore sportsbook is one of the more celebrated sportsbooks on the web because of its competitive and consistent odds and good payouts.

Take a look for yourself at consumer reviews- theScore sportsbook rates consistently high when it comes to odds and payouts. You can get a better idea of this by simply downloading the app and taking it for a spin: the requirements for sign-up and deposit are quite low.

Streaming and Live Betting

As it stands, you can’t really stream live sports from anywhere on theScore app or the sports betting news app of the same name. However, you’ll have live stats available to you all the time, and theScore sportsbook does a good job of giving you opportunities to review your betslip, ongoing and upcoming games, and more.

In addition, theScore sportsbook hooks directly up with the sports news apps to keep you updated on all the action. It’s not the same as a built-in live betting experience, but it’s a pretty close approximation of what we’d like to see from live updating services.

If you’re looking to bet live on your favorite events, theScore sportsbook has one of the best-reviewed live odds updates in New Jersey! Giving you up-to-date info and changing odds for every play in the game, The Score app does a stellar job of keeping you up-to-date.

We would have given a higher score in our theScore sportsbook review, but we are really hoping for an addition of more bet types and live betting options. We understand that server space for live betting is a concern, but one that should have been taken into account before release.

theScore Mobile App

We pay special attention to this is one aspect of the brand in our theScore sportsbook review-- the mobile app is a fantastic example of what modern designs should look like. Everything you need is right there at your fingertips, and the app performs well across most devices. You can even customize your home screen so you don’t have to sift through extra junk just to see your betslip.

Our favorite thing about theScore app on Android and iPhone is that it is so navigable. It’s super easy to flips between tabs and you don’t get inundated with information. If you’re looking for odds, a swipe, and a tap and you’re there. The ability to track your bets before they’ve cleared is a cool feature as well.

theScore Sportsbook App

New promotions can be found simply by tapping the Promos page and checking out what’s available. There’s no real need for theScore bonus codes or anything like that-- just swipe over to promotions and tap to get one of the many free bets offered.

If you’re looking to get theScore app on your smartphone, just visit the main site for Android or the App Store for iPhone, download, install, and get started. The only reason we were unable to give a perfect 5 out of 5 on our theScore sportsbook review is that, for some reason, there’s no iPad support. If you are looking for other alternatives you can try the BetMGM and Borgata Sportsbook app.

theScore Payment Options

Also, theScore offers a fair variety of expected payment options, including credit/debit cards, ACH/bank transfer, and eWallets. If you’re looking to make a withdrawal, your options are a bit limited, including bank transfer and check.

We would have given a higher grade in our theScore sportsbook review, but we’re hoping that PayPal and other digital payment options get added in the future. Even a prepaid card might make the withdrawal process easier-- withdrawals are notoriously slow with any online sportsbook, and here is no different.

Customer Service

While theScore’s FAQ section is pretty sparse, with only 7 major questions addressed. We had to do quite a bit of clicking around before we found answers to common questions, such as how to make a withdrawal or what the wagering requirements were to withdraw.

In addition, we’re used to seeing Live Chat or other immediate customer support options from such a celebrated sportsbook, so that bumped theScore down a few points-- no pun intended. When we did deal with customer service, they were helpful and as prompt as possible, whether on the phone or through emails.

Overall, we’re hoping to see an expansion of the FAQ section and the addition of some more immediate help options like Live Chat. Still, we were satisfied with our customer service interactions, so this operator gets a 3 out of 5.

Our Verdict

In our theScore sportsbook review, we conclude that the brand offers a great service for experienced bettors who have already put aside their betting cash, they have a solid idea of what they’re doing, and they don’t need any extra promotions or rewards programs to feel like they’re getting an edge.

What theScore does especially well is the app-- their service both on Android and iPhone devices is a well-streamlined example of how sports betting apps can operate in tandem with sports news sites. In addition, we were really happy with the overall experience of betting alongside live events.

We’d like to see quite a few things change with this operator, however. They don’t really have any welcome offers or promotions that compare to any of the other sportsbooks in New Jersey. In addition, their FAQ section is really lacking-- as a matter of fact, any information for new users was more difficult to find than it should have been.

Overall, theScore sportsbook is a great selection for intermediate to advanced bettors who know what they’re doing and don’t need any bonuses. The mobile app works incredibly well, and customer service was helpful and prompt. Still, we’re hoping for more in the coming months at theScore.

theScore Sportsbook FAQ

Even if you are not familiar with sports betting theScore sportsbook is remarkably easy to use. New customers should not have any problem navigating the app and placing bets.

Can I add my favorite teams to my account?

There is the possibility to add favorite teams with theScore sportsbook. As theScore also has the general media app you can also link up the two. Your favorites will then be highlighted on the sportsbook app. So you can easily identify betting opportunities with the teams you follow.
