TEMPLE OWLS vs. UCF KNIGHTS BETTING PREDICTION

The Owls of Temple head south looking to square their record at 3-3. It has alternated losses and wins in five games overall this season, falling at Memphis last time out by a 24-3 score. Temple has had terrible production on the road this season, losing that game to the Tigers by 21 points, while getting dumped 30-0 at Duke in the opener back on Sept. 2. Temple is 0-2 SU/ATS while cashing the UNDER in two road trips to date, getting outscored 54-3.

The Knights of UCF are back at the Bounce House trying to get within one game of bowl eligibility already. It was impressive in a 41-19 victory over SMU as a 3-point favorite last time out, hitting the UNDER for a fourth consecutive game. UCF has alternated covers and non-covers through five games. The defense has really come alive for the Knights, allowing 19 to a high-octane SMU team last time out, coming on the heels of a 27-10 win over Georgia Tech, a Power 5 team.

UCF leads the all-time series 7-2, including a 49-7 rout in Philadelphia last season. UCF has scored 38 or more points in each of the past five games against Temple, all wins. The Owls last won 26-25 in Orlando back on Oct. 15, 2016. UCF will maintain its dominance in this series with another convincing win over the struggling Temple side.

TEMPLE OWLS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Owls have failed miserably in two games on the road, and it's not like Temple has exactly faced the cream of the FBS crop. Temple was hammered 30-0 at Duke, and 24-3 at Memphis. Not good. In fact, it's only wins this season were against FCS Lafayette, a game which featured an awful bad beat, if you remember, and a 28-0 win over an equally sorry UMass side. The UNDER has hit in three in a row, and four of five for the Owls this season.

Temple's offense is the issue, ranking near the bottom of FBS in every category. It is 125th in total yards per game (282.8), 125th in rushing yards per game (83.8) and 126th in points scored per game (15.0). If it does anything even remotely well, it ranks 109th in passing yards per game (199.0), but even that category isn't very good. Defensively, Temple is actually really strong, yielding just 281.2 total yards per game to rank 13th, while clamping down on opposing quarterbacks. The Owls are allowing just 149.0 yards per game to rank 3rd overall in the country, and it is 21st with 16.8 PPG.

Temple is 3-9 ATS in the past 12 games overall dating back to last season, while doing 0-6 ATS in the past six on the road, and 3-13 ATS in the past 16 inside the AAC. The UNDER is 4-1 in five games overall, and 4-1 in the past five games on the road, too.

UCF KNIGHTS BETTING ANALYSIS

UCF's high-flying offense will be a strong test for the Temple defense, and one the Knights should pass with flying colors. The Knights are rolling up 481.8 total yards per game to rank 18th in the nation, while racking up 251.6 rushing yards per game to check in 4th overall. It has piled up 35.6 PPG to rank 30th, too.

QB John Rhys Plumlee now only has completed 61.0% of his passes for 1,143 yards, 7 TD and 3 INT, but he leads the team with 417 rushing yards while adding 4 TD. RB Isaiah Bowser has posted 8 rushing TDs, and is the other big name to watch.

Defensively, UCF is allowing 14.6 PPG, and that's not what the Temple offense needs.

UCF is 6-1 ATS in its past seven appearances on a Thursday night, and 4-1 ATS in the past five tries against Temple. However, the Knights are just 7-18 ATS in the past 25 inside the conference. Don't let that dissuade you, however, as Temple is bad, and won't score nearly enough to threaten an upset.

For totals, the UNDER is 4-0 in UCF's past four games overall, while hitting at a 4-1 clip in the past five at the Bounce House. The OVER is 5-2 in UCF's past five Thursday appearances, and 4-1 in the past five in this series, too. But defense should reign supreme here.
