BOLTON, England (AP) -U.S. midfielder Stuart Holden is set to resume light training as he recovers from a thigh injury sustained after joining Bolton.
Bolton needs Holden to helps its battle against relegation - the Premier League club is above the three-team drop zone on goal difference.
``Stuart will start some light training with the group tomorrow,'' Bolton manager Owen Coyle said Thursday. ``It has been frustrating for him as he is such a fit lad.
``He did well in America, had a break, then came here and did some training. Maybe he tried too hard. Who knows? There is no doubt when he is fully fit he is a talented kid. He will get his opportunity like the rest of players.''
Holden is looking for regular action to clinch a spot at the World Cup, which begins in June.
Holden accepted Thursday that it was a ``risk'' joining Bolton on a deal until the end of the season.
``I could have taken the easy route, spent six months playing every game at Houston,'' he said. ``And if I'd been playing the way I had, then I would have probably been going to the World Cup.
``But in terms of my career, I didn't want to make a decision based solely on one World Cup. It's a decision that affects the next few years of my life. It's the next step and I'll never look back and have any regrets.''
