2014 MLB Win Total Results
The 2014 pro baseball regular season is coming to a close as teams enter the final quarter of the 162-game season. Before the season began the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino SuperBook (LVH) posted win totals for all 30 teams.

Prior to the All-Star break in late June, we looked at the win totals and forecasted the pace for every team in the majors. To figure out a team’s pace, you take their win percentage and multiply by 162. (Ex. Baltimore Orioles finished with 96 wins (162 x .576).

In the below table, we looked at the All-Star projections and you can see how certain teams finished the season based on their projections from spring training.

In late June, the Giants and Brewers were on a torrid pace to win close to 100 games. Both teams finished shy of the 100 victory mark, while Milwaukee barely won more games than it lost with an 82-80 record.

Two of the best teams in baseball, the Dodgers and Tigers, needed wins on the final day of the season to go 'over' their victory total.

The Marlins, Cubs, and Astros were the three teams picked to finish with the least amount of wins in baseball. All three squads eclipsed their win total, while Miami went 77-85 after a 100-loss season of 2013.

The biggest letdown was Oakland, who at one point owned a 57-33 record (.633) on July 8, which turned into a 102-win projection if the A's kept up that pace. However, Oakland finished shy of its 89.5 win total by picking up 88 victories.

Listed below are the win totals from the LVH, plus projections for each team from the midway point (6/23/14) and as of Sept. 28, 2014.
