CHENEY, Wash. (AP) - Cliff Ederaine scored a career-high 22 points and Jeffrey Forbes added 21, making 4 of 4 from the foul line in the final minute of overtime, as Eastern Washington beat Sacramento State 88-79 on Wednesday night.
In the Big Sky opener for both teams, Laron Griffin had 12 points and Glen Dean 11 for the Eagles (4-8), who outscored the Hornets (3-9) 11-2 in overtime.
Zach Nelson had a career-high 19 points off the bench for Sacramento State.
The Hornets had a chance to win at the end of regulation, but Sultan Toles-Bey's baseline 3-point try at the buzzer sailed over the rim. Ederaine, a 33-percent foul shooter, forced overtime by hitting 1 of 2 from the line with 33.5 seconds left to tie the game at 77-all.
