The 2012 college football regular season has come to a close and so have the win total results.
According to Sportsbook.ag senior odds consultant Mike Pierce, bettors were able to cash this season but the house still fared well in the long run. "We got worked on three teams, Texas A&M, UCLA and Florida, in that order," explained Pierce.
The Aggies opened up a lot of eyes in their SEC debut this season, posting a 10-2 record. Texas A&M started the season late because of a postponed game against a Louisiana Tech, who they later beat 59-57. In their home opener, the Aggies lost a tight affair to Florida (17-20) in a game that showed both clubs were contenders. Despite the tough setback, the Aggies closed the season by winning 10 of their final 11 games, easily surpassing the 7-win season total.
The Gators finished 11-1 and their only loss came to Georgia (9-17) in the annual battle from Jacksonville. Florida's win total was 8 and the school had the 'over' locked up by mid-November.
Sportsbook.ag earned most of its money back from a pair of big-name schools that had big-name quarterbacks. Bettors were very high on the 'over' in Southern California and Arkansas.
Signal callers Matt Barkley and Tyler Wilson both gave the Trojans and Razorbacks much deserved hype but we found out that neither of the two could play defense. USC finished 7-5 and couldn't afford more than two losses with its high win total of 10 ½.
Arkansas was a tad lower at 8 ½ wins and after start the season 1-3, those who bet the 'over' were ripping up their tickets in late September.
