Tech Trends – Week 9

TOLEDO at WESTERN MICHIGAN...Toledo 5-2 last 7 as visiting chalk. WMU 5-9-1 spread vs. line since mid 2017.

BALL STATE at OHIO...Solich has covered four straight at Athens, and 5-1 last 6 as home chalk. Cards 3-6 last nine as road dog (though 2-1 in role this season).

APPALACHIAN STATE at GEORGIA SOUTHERN...App 5-1, GaSo 6-1 vs. line in 2018. Mounties 11-5 last 16 as visiting chalk and have won and covered last three vs. Eagles.

GEORGIA TECH at VIRGINIA TECH...Paul Johnson has upsets in outright wins as dog last two years vs. Fuente. Johnson 13-7-1 as dog since 2014. Dog team 5-0-1 last six in series. Hokies 4-8 vs. points since late 2017.

BAYLOR at WEST VIRGINIA...Baylor has covered last three in series, and Bears 7-4 last 11 vs. spread away from Waco. Holgorsen just 2-6 vs. points last 8 as Big 12 host.

MIAMI-FLA. at BOSTON COLLEGE...Richt on 3-8 spread skid since late 2017. Miami 1-6 vs. spread last seven away from home. Addazio 18-12-1 as dog since 2014, 8-2 vs. spread last 10 at Chestnut Hill.

INDIANA at MINNESOTA...Fleck just 3-9-1 vs. spread in Big Ten games since LY for Gophers. Minny also just 3-8 vs. points last 11 Big Ten home games.

UTAH at UCLA... Whittingham 5-2 vs. line vs. UCLA since Utes entered Pac-12 in 2011. Bruins 6-13 last 19 vs. line at home (1-3 for Chip). Utes 7-2 vs. spread last nine on Pac-12 road.

WYOMING at COLORADO STATE...Border war! Bohl 2-8 vs. spread last ten games without Josh Allen. Though Wyo has beaten CSU last two years (both with Allen).

MTSU at OLD DOMINION... MTSU 1-4 vs. spread last 5 as visitor. ODU however only 3-7 vs. spread last ten at Norfolk.

NC STATE at SYRACUSE...Road team has covered all five meetings since 2013. Cuse was 4-9 vs. spread for Babers at home entering this season but 2-0-1 at Carrier Dome TY.

NORTH CAROLINA at VIRGINIA...Mendenhall 6-1 vs. line TY, and Cavs 6-2 vs. spread last 8 at Charlottesville. Fedora 14-19-1 as dog at UNC (4-1 TY).

CENTRAL MICHIGAN at AKRON...CMU surprising 3-0 vs. line away TY, 8-2 vs. points as visitor since LY. Zips 0-2 vs. number at Infocision TY, 2-10-1 vs. spread last 11 at home.

LA TECH at FAU... Kiffin 10-2 SU in C-USA games since LY, 5-1 vs. points as C-USA host, yet Owls only 1-6 vs. line TY. Skip Holtz 14-5 as dog since 2014 (2-0 TY).

DUKE at PITT...Duke 3-0 vs. line away TY, and has covered last five away from Durham. Narduzzi just 8-16 vs. spread at Heinz Field since taking over Pitt in 2015. But Panthers have covered last three in series.

ILLINOIS at MARYLAND...Lovie on 7-15 spread skid since late 2016. Lovie 6-11 as DD dog with Illini. Terps 3-1 as chalk TY.

WAKE FOREST at LOUISVILLE...Deacs only 1-5 vs. line TY though they have covered last four years vs. Petrino. Clawson 9-5 vs. spread last 13 away. Petrino 1-6 vs. line TY, 6-18 last 24 on board since late 2016.

WISCONSIN at NORTHWESTERN...Badgers only 2-5 vs. line TY, and have failed to cover 3 of last 4 vs. Cats. Though Wiscy 9-1 as visiting chalk since 2015 (1-0 TY). Pat Fitz 19-9 as dog since 2014.

ARMY at EASTERN MICHIGAN...EMU 18-3-1 as dog since 2016, 4-1-1 as Ypsilanti dog that span. Army on 4-1-1 spread run, 7-2 last nine vs. points away from Michie. Eagles covered at West Point LY.

SOUTHERN MISS at CHARLOTTE... 49ers 4-1 as home dog since LY. USM just 3-5 vs. points last 8 on C-USA road.

TCU at KANSAS...Ugh! Frogs no covers last three TY, 2-7 last nine vs. number. Jayhawks have covered 5 of last 6 in series!

UMASS at UCONN...Huskies 1-5-1 vs. line TY, 6-17-1 last 24, including Edsall and Diaco. Mass 0-4 vs. line away TY.

COASTAL CAROLINA at GEORGIA STATE... Panthers on 2-8-1 skid vs. line last 11 reg season games. Coastal 5-2 vs. line last 7 away.

NEW MEXICO at UTAH STATE... Utags 5-1-1 vs. line TY. Davie however has covered 3 of last 4 meetings.

OREGON STATE at COLORADO...Coach Mac has covered 3 of last 4 meetings. Beavs no covers last four this season, CU 2-1 vs. spread at Boulder TY.

UAB at UTEP...UAB 6-1 vs. line TY, 16-5-1 last 22 on board since late 2014 for Bill Clark. UAB has covered 6 of last 7 on C-USA road. UTEP has covered 4 of last 5 TY, but Miners just 4-10 vs. points last 14 at Sun Bowl.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS at BYU... NIU 11-5 as visiting dog for Carey since 2013. Cougs 3-7 vs. spread at Provo for Sitake since LY.

SAN DIEGO STATE at NEVADA...Aztecs 12-3 vs. points last 15 as MW visitor. SDSU 6-1 vs. line last 7 as visitor overall. Pack 7-4 vs. spread last 11 at Reno.

WASHINGTON STATE at STANFORD...Leach has won last 2 and covered last 3 vs. Tree. Leach on 13-4 spread uptick last 17 in reg season play. Shaw 5-9 vs. spread as home chalk since 2016 (2-2 TY).

ARIZONA STATE at USC...SC now 5-15 vs. line last 20, Trojans 2-7 last nine as Coliseum chalk (though SC on 19-game SU home win streak for Helton). SC has destroyed ASU last three seasons though Sun Devils on 11-5 spread uptick last 16 reg season games (4-3 for Herm).

WASHINGTON at CAL...Huskies have won and covered last two meetings but U-Dub 1-4 vs. spread last 5 as Pac-12 visitor. Cal however only 2-5 vs. spread this season.

GEORGIA vs. FLORIDA (at Jacksonville)...Dan Mullen 6-1 vs. line this season, now 8-4 last 12 as dog. Kirby Smart only 3-4 vs. spread this season. Gators 3-1-1 last five in series.

UNLV at SAN JOSE STATE...SJSU just 2-6-1 last 9 vs. spread at home. Rebs on 8-2 spread run last 10 away.

TULANE at TULSA...Tulane humiliated Tulsa LY by 62-28 count. But home team is 6-1 vs. spread in Wave games TY (Tulane 0-3 away). Golden Hurricane just 3-7 last ten vs. line at home.

TEXAS A&M at MISSISSIPPI STATE... Dan Mullen covered 4 of last 5 vs. Sumlin in this series prior to this season. Jimbo however is 6-1 this season and Ags actually 12-4-1 vs. spread last 17 reg season games.

KENTUCKY at MISSOURI...Stoops 3-1 as dog TY, 12-7 as dog since 2016. UK has won SU last three vs. Mizzou. Tigers 3-3 vs. line TY but 3-0 at home, six straight covers at Columbia for Barry Odom.

TENNESSEE at SOUTH CAROLINA...SC covers last three in series, though Muschamp just 4-4 last 8 as chalk. UT has covered last two on SEC trail and 5-14 last 19 on board in reg season ( 3-4 for Pruitt).

TEXAS at OKLAHOMA STATE...Tom Herman only 4-7 vs. spread last 11 reg season games. Though Horns 3-0-1 vs. spread last four against OSU. Gundy 0-4-1 vs. spread last five at Stillwater vs. Big 12.

RICE at NORTH TEXAS...Owls 5-10 last 14 as DD dog. Note UNT “under” 7-0 this season.

SOUTH FLORIDA at HOUSTON...Major Applewhite decent 6-3 as home chalk since LY. USF 2-4 vs. line last six as visitor (counts Illinois game at Chicago).

IOWA at PENN STATE...Iowa on 8-1 spread run since late 2017, Ferentz 11-5 vs. spread last 16 as visitor. Penn State on 22-8 run vs. line since early 2016 but no covers last 2 TY.

PURDUE at MICHIGAN STATE...Dantonio no covers last five at East Lansing. Brohm 8-2 as dog with Purdue, and Boilermakers 14-4 as visiting dog since 2014 (into the Hazell years).

FIU at WESTERN KENTUCKY...FIU has covered last two meetings, and Butch Davis 7-1 vs. spread last 8 reg season games.

CINCINNATI at SMU...Cincy 5-2 vs. line TY. Bearcats 3-1 as chalk TY after 0-4 mark in role for Fickell in 2017.

VANDERBILT at ARKANSAS...Derek Mason on 6-11 spread skid, 2-5 last 7 vs. spread as SEC visitor, and 2-10 last 12 vs. line in SEC games. Hogs 5-1 vs. points last six SEC games (3-1 for Chad Morris).

KANSAS STATE at OKLAHOMA...Lincoln Riley 7-2 as Norman chalk since LY. Bill Snyder at it again, covers last three as a dog, now 32-14 last 46 as dog.

ARKANSAS STATE at ULL...Ark State on 2-7 spread skid since late 2017. Home team has won and covered last four meetings, Ragin’ Cajuns on 4-0 spread upturn TY.

NEW MEXICO STATE at TEXAS STATE... Bobcats just 1-2 as rare chalk since Withers took over in 2016. TSU also just 5-10 vs. points at San Marcos for Withers. Ags have won and covered last three meetings.

TEXAS TECH at IOWA STATE...Kingsbury on 5-1 spread uptick, and has won outright as a dog last three on Big 12 road. And 10-4 last 14 as visiting dog. Cyclones however have romped past two seasons in series. ISU also on 11-4 spread uptick.

BOISE STATE at AIR FORCE... Force 5-1 last six vs. spread in series, won outright as dog for three straight years vs. Broncos prior to 2017. Falcs 3-0-1 as dog in 2018, Calhoun 16-6-1 in role since 2014, 6-1 last seven as home dog.

CLEMSON at FLORIDA STATE...Tigers 6-2-1 vs. spread last 9 as chalk away from Death Valley. Dabo 3-0 SU but only 1-2 vs. line last three vs. Noles.

NAVY vs. NOTRE DAME (at San Diego)...Navy has covered 4 of last 5 meetings, and 12-7 last 19 vs. line in series. Niumatalolo 16-9 as dog since 2013. Irish 6-2 vs. spread away from South Bend since LY.

OREGON at ARIZONA...Ducks 2-6 vs. line last seven away from Eugene, 2-4 as away chalk (though 1-0 TY). Cats 2-3 as dog TY for Sumlin, 9-19 as dog since 2015.

HAWAII at FRESNO STATE...Tedford 6-1 vs. line TY, 16-3-2 vs. spread since taking over LY. Though only managed a push at Hawaii LY. Back into 2016, Bulldogs 12-2 vs. spread last 14 at home. Hawaii 1-5-1 spread run last six TY, and just 1-6 last seven vs. line on MW road.
