Tech Trends – Week 9

SMU at HOUSTON...SMU has covered first three away TY and 6-1 vs. line. Though home team has won last three and covered last four meetings.

USC at COLORADO...SC 8-0 SU, 5-3 vs. line against CU since Buffs entered Pac in 2011. CU 1-4 last five as Boulder dog (1-0 Tucker), and just 1-5 last six vs. line as host. Helton a bit better vs. line TY (3-3) though Trojans still just 3-8 vs. points last 11 away from Coliseum.

UCONN at UMASS...UConn road chalk? Huskies haven’t been since 2015. Huskies 0-19 last 19 as chalk! Last cover in role was 2012 vs. Maryland for Pasqualoni! Mass just 1-6 vs. line TY but did cover as home dog vs. Akron.

ILLINOIS at PURDUE...Lovie on 4-10 spread skid last 14 as visitor. Purdue has won and covered last three meetings. Brohm was 0-4 as Ross-Ade chalk LY but 2-1 vs. spread at home TY.

SAN JOSE STATE at ARMY... Army no covering machine TY, in fact Monken 0-3 vs. spread at Michie, 4-10 vs. spread at West Point since 2017. Spartans 6-3 vs. line last nine as road dog.

TROY at GEORGIA STATE...Chip Lindsey just 2-4 vs. line TY with Troy, which had posted winning spread marks the past four years for Neal Brown. But Trojans are 1-0 as road chalk (Akron!) and 7-2 in chalk role away from home since 2017. Troy has won last 3 SU and covered last 2 vs. GS. Panthers still just 5-8-1 vs. spread at old Turner Field since moving in two years ago.

BOSTON COLLEGE at CLEMSON...BC working on four covers in a row and 10-3 vs. spread last 13 away from Chestnut Hill. Addazio also 11-2-1 last 14 as dog and 3-1-2 last six vs. spread against Tigers. Dabo 3-1 vs. line at Death Valley TY and has covered 4 straight as ACC host.

MEMPHIS at TULSA...Tigers 2-4-1 vs. points last seven on AAC trail. Memphis has won and covered 3 of last 4 meetings including last two blowouts at Tulsa. Hurricane no cover first three at home TY.

EASTERN MICHIGAN at TOLEDO...EMU not covering like recent years, just 3-4 vs. line TY. But 2-2 vs. line away, part of 17-4 spread run away from home since 2016. Eagles have covered last 3 meetings. Rockets have dropped last 2 badly TY but covered last five at Glass Bowl.

MISSISSIPPI STATE at TEXAS A&M...MSU no covers first three away TY, four in a row away since late 2018. Moorhead 1-4 as dog with MSU. MSU has won and covered last 3 and 5-1 vs. spread last six in series, however. Jimbo 1-3 vs. line last four TY after covering 13 of first 16 with Ags.

UCF at TEMPLE...UCF no covers last four TY after 13-4 spread run previous 17 on board. Knights have won and covered last 2 in series and 4-1 vs. line last five vs. Owls. Temple 19-6 getting points since 2015.

BOWLING GREEN at WESTERN MICHIGAN...BGSU 0-3 vs. line away TY, 13-31 against line since late 2015. Broncos however just 7-15 vs. spread last 22 on board, though 3-1 vs. points at Waldo TY.

INDIANA at NEBRASKA...After covering last seven Big Ten games LY, Frost no covers first four vs. league TY. Huskers 1-6 vs. points in 2019. If a Hoosiers getting points note 3-0 mark as visiting dog since LY.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN at BUFFALO...McElwain has covered last five TY and 6-1 vs. spread in 2019. Meanwhile Bulls 3-6 vs. points since late LY (2-4 2019), though 8-3-1 vs. line last 12 as host.

IOWA at NORTHWESTERN...Pat Fitz has won and covered last 3 meetings (dog in each), and Hawkeyes have dropped last 3 vs. line TY. Fitz 16-7-1 getting points since 2016 (2-3 TY).

SOUTH FLORIDA at EAST CAROLINA...Dog team 3-0-1 last four meetings. Note “unders” 5-1 in first six ECU games for Mike Houston TY.

SYRACUSE at FLORIDA STATE...Cuse was 9-3 as visiting dog entering TY but 0-2 in role thus far 2019, and only 1-5 vs. spread last six TY. But has covered last two vs. FSU. Taggart 7-12 vs. spread last 19 on board.

LIBERTY at RUTGERS...Falwell has covered 3 of last 4 TY, ‘Gers no wins or covers last six TY.

SOUTHERN MISS at RICE... Rice 8-5 last 13 vs. spread since mid 2018 and 10-6 as dog for Bloomgren.

CAL at UTAH...Wilcox 3-0 as dog TY, as dog 7-0 in Cal games TY. Cal 6-1 last seven as dog and has covered last 8 as road dog.

NEVADA at WYOMING...Bohl on 9-2 spread run since late 2018, 5-1 last six vs. spread at Laramie. Pack 4-8 L12 as visiting dog.

UTAH STATE at AIR FORCE...Force 3-0-1 vs. line last four in series.

HAWAII at NEW MEXICO...Davie 2-5 vs. line TY, Lobos on 10-22 spread skid since late 2016. UNM 3-13 last 16 vs. line at home.

WKU at MARSHALL...Herd 2-5 vs. line TY, no covers last five at Huntington. WKU has covered last 4 and 5 of last 6 TY.

ARIZONA at STANFORD...Tree 2-6 vs. line last 8 after UCLA loss.

WASHINGTON STATE at OREGON...Leach has won and covered last four vs. UO, and covered all seven since taking over WSU in 2012. Cougs have actually covered last nine meetings! Leach 13-6 as dog since 2015. Ducks 2-2 vs. line at Eugene TY and Cristobal 4-5 vs. points as Eugene chalk.

COLORADO STATE at FRESNO STATE...FSU 1-3-1 vs. line last five TY after 21-6-2 spread mark previous for Tedford. CSU 6-3 vs. spread last nine since late LY and has covered last three on MW road.

MISSOURI at KENTUCKY...Mizzou on 18-9 spread run in reg season action. Stoops 5-12 vs. spread as host since 2017. Road team has covered last three meetings.

DUKE at NORTH CAROLINA...Cutcliffe 26-13-1 as dog since 2013 and has won SU last 3 vs. Heels.

PENN STATE at MICHIGAN STATE...Dantonio has won and covered last 2 and 4 of last 5 in series since James Franklin arrived at PSU in 2014. MSU dog marks flattening (7-7 since 2016) and no covers last five at home.

MIAMI-OHIO at KENT STATE...RedHawks 2-5 vs. line TY but they have been notoriously slow starters in recent years. Miami 13-5 vs. spread last half of reg season since 2016. Home team however has covered last three in series. Flashes 5-2 vs. spread at Dix since LY.

APP STATE at SOUTH ALABAMA...App 5-1 vs. line TY, 18-4-1 vs. points since late 2017, 10-1 last 11 vs. spread away.

NEW MEXICO STATE at GEORGIA SOUTHERN...Ags 6-16 last 22 reg season vs. line (3-4 TY), 3-6 last 9 as road dog. GS was 6-1 vs. spread at Statesboro entering this season (1-2 TY).

OKLAHOMA STATE at IOWA STATE... Road team has covered last three in series. ISU 3-1 vs. line at home TY.

FIU at MTSU...Butch Davis was 15-6 vs. line entering 2019, but 2-5 vs. line TY. FIU has covered 4 of last 5 in series.

FAU at ODU...Lane Kiffin has covered first three on road TY and five straight away since late 2018. He’s also 2-0 SU and vs. line against ODU. Note road team 6-1 vs. line in Monarch games to date.

OHIO at BALL STATE...Solich only 1-6 vs. line TY, but hasn’t had a losing spread year since 2014. Cards just 3-5 vs. spread last eight at Muncie though Mike Neu has covered last 4 TY.

ARKANSAS at ALABAMA...Saban just 1-3-1 vs. points last five vs. Hogs. Nick 8-4-1 vs. points last 12 as SEC host. Ark 2-5-1 last eight as visiting dog (not counting Arlington vs. A&M).

SOUTH CAROLINA at TENNESSEE...Muschamp 7-1 as visiting dog (if dog here) since 2017. Note that underdog has covered last 7 meetings. Vols 5-14 vs. spread at Neyland since 2017 (2-3 TY).

OKLAHOMA at KANSAS STATE...OU only 10-11-1 last 22 on board since late 2017. Host has covered last 3 in series. Klieman 2-1 as dog TY after Snyder was 15-5 as short previous three seasons.

MARYLAND at MINNESOTA...Fleck 0-2 SU and vs. line against Terps, but Gophers have won and covered last four TY and 4-1 last five vs. line as Big Ten host. Terps 2-8 vs. number last 10 as Big Ten visitor.

TULANE at NAVY...Mids on 9-1 spread run since late 2018 and have covered last five at Annapolis. Though road team has covered last four meetings.

TEXAS at TCU...Horns have covered last four away from Austin. Frogs just 3-7 vs. line last 10 at Fort Worth, Patterson only 4-5 last 9 as dog after good marks earlier in role.

MIAMI-FLA. at PITT...Canes 1-7 vs. line against ACC foes away from Hard Rock. Panthers 7-3-1 vs. spread last 11 at home. Home team has won and covered last three meetings.

VIRGINIA at LOUISVILLE...Satterfield 17-6-1 vs. line since late 2017 with App & ‘Viile. Home team has covered last 3 meetings.

AKRON at NORTHERN ILLINOIS...Zips 0-7 vs. line TY in Arth debut. Huskies 10-4 as DD chalk since 2015.

TEXAS TECH at KANSAS...Kingsbury took care of KU, blowout wins for Red Raiders past three years.

NORTH TEXAS at CHARLOTTE...UNT 2-11 vs. line last 13 on board since mid 2018. Mean Green also 1-7 vs. points last 8 away. But Charlotte no covers last four TY.

WISCONSIN at OHIO STATE...Buckeyes six straight covers TY. Paul Chryst on 6-2 spread run with Badgers and also 8-4 as dog since arriving in 2015. Wiscy also 16-6 vs. spread last 21 as visitor.

TEXAS STATE at ARKANSAS STATE...Spavital just 1-4-1 vs. line in TSU debut, though Ark State only 2-5 vs. line TY after ULL loss. But Red Wolves 10-4 vs. mark last 14 as Sun Belt host.

AUBURN at LSU...Coach O has been able to beat Malzahn, won and covered both vs. Gus as dog. Malzahn 6-11 last 17 as dog.

LA TECH at UTEP...Skip Holtz 28-14-1 vs. line away from Ruston since 2014. UTEP has covered 3 of last 4 meetings, though Miners just 2-12 last 14 vs. points at Sun Bowl.

NOTRE DAME at MICHIGAN...Brian Kelly 4-3 last seven in rare dog role. Harbaugh and 1-8 vs. points last 9 non-Big Ten.

ARIZONA STATE at UCLA...Chip 1-6 vs. spread last seven at Rose Bowl, but has covered 3 of last 4 TY after Stanford win. UCLA still just 25-44 vs. spread since 2014.

SAN DIEGO STATE at UNLV...Rocky Long has covered 5 of last 6 TY and all four on road. SDSU also 7-2 last 9 as visiting chalk. Tony Sanchez just 3-7 last 10 as Sam Boyd Stadium dog.
