Georgia State to play Alabama in 2010
June 17, 2009
ATLANTA (AP) -Georgia State is wasting no time jumping into big-time college football.
Georgia State will play at Alabama in its first season in 2010 in a game that will mark Bill Curry's return to the state.
The schools announced Wednesday plans to play on Nov. 20, 2010 at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The game will conclude Georgia State's inaugural season.
Curry, Georgia State's coach, said playing at Alabama - where he coached the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference championship - ``quickens the pace of everything we are doing.''
Curry coached at Alabama from 1987 through 1989. Alabama won the 1989 SEC championship.
