Kawhi Leonard Odds

Where do you think Kawhi Leonard will play next season? You can bet on where Kawhi will land at BetDSI. Odds to win the Kawhi Leonard Sweepstakes have moved drastically recently. BetDSI Sportsbook, which first posted lines on Kawhi Leonard's next team June 17, now lists the Philadelphia 76ers as the odds-on favorite to land one of the NBA's top two-way players.

"We've taken a good amount of sharp money on the Sixers recently," BetDSI spokesperson Scott Cooley said. "There's no telling what's going to happen, as there are a ton of moving parts, but we saw the same guys firing at L.A. late with the LeBron odds.”

"The square bettors have been all over the place for this prop, but they read the news and react to it so they've been betting Philly. Plus, the possibility of creating a second superteam in the East creates excitement they want to be a part of."

NBA journalist Chris Sheridan outlines an interesting trade scenario in his most recent Kawhi column, which you can read here.

Below, you will find a timeline of Kawhi Leonard odds from BetDSI. Current odds are at the bottom of the release, and are available for wagering at BetDSI.

It has been about a month since reports came out that Leonard was demanding a trade. Leonard played in only nine games last season, so teams looking to trade for him really don’t know if he is healthy. Leonard had an unspecified right quad injury last season and the injury never really seemed to get better. Recent reports said that some NBA general managers would trade for Leonard even if it was not a guarantee that Leonard would stay for more than one season, but only if they are convinced that Leonard is healthy. Leonard will become a free agent after next season and he has said he would like to play in Los Angeles. Perhaps the 76ers can convince Leonard to sign with them long-term, but the risk is high, as Leonard may want to test free agency.

The San Antonio Spurs don’t have to trade Leonard, but most people believe that a trade will happen. Some NBA GM’s have said that they would be willing to give up a good young player and a first round pick for Leonard, even if it wasn’t guaranteed that Leonard would sign with them long-term.

The 76ers are the favorite to land Leonard, but don’t forget that the Spurs don’t have to trade Leonard. They are trying to convince him to accept a supermax contract worth $219 million over five years. The Spurs recently let Tony Parker leave in free agency and Parker was one of the most vocal players last season who questioned the severity of Leonard’s injury.

There is a good chance that Leonard will not be traded until after training camps open because teams will want to see how healthy he is. The 76ers have former San Antonio assistant Brett Brown as their head coach and the 76ers also have one of their team doctors who have been overseeing Leonard’s quad treatment, so it makes sense they are the current betting favorite to land Leonard, but the value on Philadelphia is gone.
