Caesars Sportsbook is one of nine mobile sportsbook operators licensed in New York. The Empire State went live with legal online sports betting in early January. Since that point, the early results have been historic with Caesars among the biggest players in the state.

The company is now looking to strike while the iron is hot. The Nevada-based casino gaming and entertainment giant has set its sights on legal horse betting with a New York-based racing giant. This will be accomplished  through a partnership with NYRA Bets.

Earlier this month, Caesars Sportsbook announced that it will be launching a horse betting app. This will become the official online wagering platform of the New York Racing Association Inc. The proposed launch date is come time this spring.

Caesars Racebook will utilize the NYRA Bets platform. The stated goal is to “provide bettors with pari-mutuel wagering services on premier horse racing content from more than 250 tracks around the world.”

NYRA Bets has been labeled by Caesars Sportsbook as the “fastest-growing national advance deposit wagering platform.” The sports betting operator also noted that NYRA Bets is available in 30 states and backed by an aggressive expansion plan in other US markets.

Players at Caesars Racebook will have full access to premier racing facilities on a global basis. The racing app will highlight “marquee horse racing events” in the US as well as on an international level.

The app will leverage NYRA Bet’s ability to provide handicapping insights, race replays and other helpful aids for betting on the races.

Dan Shapiro is Caesars Digital’s Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. He added the following comments to a recent company release:

“Following our successful roll out of Caesars Sportsbook, we’re delighted to launch Caesars Racebook in partnership with NYRA Bets. NYRA conducts world-class horse racing and NYRA bets has access to the best horse racing content from around the world, including from Caesars’s operated racetracks.”

He went on to add:

“We’re proud to support the horse racing industry while introducing the new Caesars Racebook app and Caesars Rewards to horse racing bettors.”

Also weighing in on this historic partnership was Dave O’Rourke as NYRA President and CEO. He commented that:

“NYRA considers it a core responsibility to grow the sport by increasing consumer access to world-class horse racing both in New York and around the country. Paring the world-renowned Caesars brand with the rapidly growing NYRA Bets wagering platform is an ideal way to launch Caesars Racebook, which will soon deliver all the NYRA Bets tools and advantages to the Caesars customer base.”

Caesars existing affiliation for horse racing already runs deep. The company owns and operates Harrah’s Hoosier Park, Horseshoe Indianapolis, Harrah’s Philadelphia and Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs.

Plans to open a Harrah’s racing facility in Columbus, Ohio were announced in 2021. Caesars remains the presenting host of the National Thoroughbred Racing Associations National Handicapping Championship at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
