At the Gate - Sunday
Owner Mike Repole has plenty to be thankful for over this holiday weekend. The outspoken owner boycotted this year's Breeders' Cup because of the Lasix ban for juveniles, and he voiced his displeasure over the Breeders' Cup passing up New York for the past seven years.

He called yesterday's card his Breeders' Cup and his horses won three of the four stakes on the card, and over the holiday weekend that started on Thursday he won a total of five stakes.

The highlight was the game victory by Stay Thirsty in the Cigar Mile (G1) where the colt edged Groupie Doll in a photo.

Repole's silks were also in the winner's circle after wins by Overanalyze in the Remsen (G2) and with Unlimited Budget in the Demoiselle (G2).

The owner won on Thanksgiving, taking the Fall Highweight (G3) with Caixa Eletronica and on Friday he won the $80,000 Super Mario Stakes with Notacatbutallama.

"I grew up 10 minutes from here," said Repole. "I said, 'This is my Breeders' Cup weekend.' We won four graded stakes. I don't care how long I'm in racing, you're not going to win three graded stakes in a row, two with two-year-olds and one with Stay Thirsty, who means so much to me. This is a special, special bittersweet moment, to go out a winner, beating Groupie Doll, who's going to win the Eclipse Award. He had the lead one time, and it happened to be when the wire came up. What a great feeling to win three stakes in a row, just amazing."

I did not exactly share that same feeling, as I picked Groupie Doll to win, and she did put in a solid effort to come up just short of winning her fourth Grade 1 race of the year.

Overall it was a pretty good day at the Big A with four winners on top on the ten race card including Prohibition ($16.00) in the nightcap.

My Best Plays Report included Pure Fun on top at $31.40, and we knocked down the recommended exacta for $90.20 and the trifecta for $290.80.

Sunday's Best Plays Report includes my eight strongest plays from Aqueduct and Churchill Downs.

Here is today's opening from Aqueduct to get the day off to a good start:

AQU Race 1 Md $50,000 (12:20 ET)
8 Nodebtdanny 6-1
4 Imaflash 2-1
3 Cry Holy 6-1
1 Blue Ballerina / 1a Time On My Hands 3-1

Analysis: Nodebtdanny was not much of a threat last out in a fifth place finish in the slop going seven furlongs in a race taken off the grass. The filly has not been able to run back to her promising debut where she was beaten just a neck at the Spa back in July. She did catch yielding turf in her second start and off tracks in her last two starts. She will return to catching a fast main track here and adds blinkers. The RRod barn has been on a nice roll at the meeting ad is 27% winners (with a +ROI) when adding the hood. The jock Ortiz went down in a spill yesterday and is likely going to miss today so we are going to likely see a jock switch.

Imaflash dueled for the early lead and could not go with the winner in a runner up finish last out when dropping in for a tag. She was 6 1/4 lengths clear of the rest of the field in the effort. The filly was claimed out of the race by the Rice barn that is 22% winners (with a +ROI) first off the claim. She ran well in her debut two back in the mud at Philly versus maiden special weight company in a runner up finish. The winner of that race was Amethyst, who ran a distant fourth in the Meadow Star in her next start while third place finisher Disco Barbie was a next out grad against maiden special weight company and then ran third in the Xtra Heat, both at Delaware Park.

WIN: #8 to win at 7-2 or better.
EX: 4,8 / 1,3,4,8
TRI: 4,8 / 1,2,3,8 / 1,3,4,5,8

Today's Featured Race of the Day from Aqueduct:

AQU Race 8 OClm $14,00 (3:43 ET)

1 Jeter 7-2
11 Ludo Bagman 5-2
7 N.F.'s Destiny 9-2
2 Rock Star Charlie 20-1

Analysis: Jeter along with our second choice are both sent out by the Tricky Rick barn. Last out the gelding pressed the early pace and could not go with the top pair late in a third place finish. The winner was Palace, who came back to beat state bred Alw-2 foes in his next start on Nov. 21. The gelding adds blinkers today and while he is now 0 for 6 at today's condition we will give him one more look here as he looks like a good fit.

Ludo Bagman was last seen in May running second against state bred Alw-1 foes at Belmont Park. The winner of that race was Saratoga Snacks, who has since come back to beat state bred Alw-2 foes, open Alw-1 company, and then ran a good second in the state bred Empire Classic in his most recent outing. The work tab is not jumping off the page but that is usual for the barn, which hits at a solid 26% clip with horses coming back off a 61-180 day layoff.

WIN: #1 to win at 5-2 or better.
EX: 1,11 / 1,2,7,11
TRI: 1,11 / 1,2,7,11 / 1,2,3,7,11

Today's Featured Race of the Day from Churchill Downs:

CD Race 10 The River City Hcp G3 (5:15 ET)
7 Guys Reward 5-1
2 Boisterous 2-1
6 Stormy Lord 6-1
11 Miami Deco 10-1

Analysis: Guys Reward did not fire his best last out in a seventh place finish in the Fayette (G2) over polytrack but he has always done his best work on grass, six of his seven wins coming on the lawn. The five year old has three wins on turf this year including taking the Firecracker (G2) her back in July. The Romans runner will appreciate the switch back to turf and hard to knock anything this barn ends out in a graded stake this year.

Boisterous comes into the race off sharp wins in the Knickerbocker (G3) and Red Smith (G2) in his last two starts. The five year old has won 9 of his 18 career starts on turf and makes his third start of his current form, cycle here. He is cutting back two furlongs but is proven at nine furlongs and looks tough here although the price is going to be on the light side.

WIN: #7 to win at 7-2 or better.
EX: 2,7 / 2,6,7,11
TRI: 2,6 / 2,6,7,11 / 2,6,7,10,11

Live Longshots:

These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.

R2: #5 Yankee Fourtune 8-1
R2: #7 Veiled Prophet 8-1
R2: #9 Kippers n' Eggs 8-1
R4: #8 Knockher Off 8-1
R6: #5 Lady Yellow Tail 10-1
R7: #2 Princess Jenny 8-1
R8: #2 Rock Star Charlie 20-1

Good luck today!
