The best reviewed & most popular race tracks in the USA

VegasInsider’s supercomputer has analysed over 376 000 data points across Google Reviews, TripAdvisor and Facebook to find out which race track in the United States is the best reviewed, on average.

The best reviewed race tracks

According to analysis of 376 275 reviews of 63 race tracks in the USA: 

Keeneland Race Track, Kentucky came out on top with the average weighted score rating of 4.644 (out of 5) - it had a rating of 4.9 on Google, 5 on TripAdvisor, and 4.6 on Facebook. 

Saratoga Race Track, New York (avg rating: 4.569) is the second best rated followed by Del Mar Club, California (avg rating: 4.557).

The worst reviewed race track turned out to be Zia Park, New Mexico with an average weighted score of 3.618, followed by the second-worst-rated Remington Park, Oklahoma (avg rating: 3.683) and SunRay Park, New Mexico (avg rating: 3.697).

Social Media Followers

We also compared the followers on various social media channels to see which race tracks were the most popular with people: 

On Facebook, Keeneland Race Track, Kentucky has the most followers- 261 200, followed by Churchill Downs, Kentucky (244 000 followers) and Belmont Park, New York (182 000 followers). 

On Twitter, Churchill Downs, Kentucky has the most followers - 97 900, followed by Santa Anita Park, California (71 000 followers) and Gulfstream Park, Florida (70 500 followers). 

On Instagram, Keeneland Race Track, Kentucky has the most followers - 140 000, followed by Churchill Downs, Kentucky (107 000 followers) and Santa Anita Park (83 100 followers).

Methodology

  • List of race tracks in the United States was collected and then, reviews from Facebook, TripAdvisor & Google Maps were combined to form a weighted average ranking
  • Only race tracks with over 500 total reviews were taken into consideration
  • If a rating for a given website was not available, it was not included in the overall weighted average
  • If a given race track did not have an official social media channel, it was omitted from the social media analysis
  • Only facilities having thoroughbred racing tracks available were taken into consideration
  • Date of data collection: 31.05.2023
