Clippers vs Bucks

by Michael Crosson

The Doc Rivers Era in Milwaukee got off to a very shaky start. But at this point, it seems like the Bucks finally have everything under control.

After posting a solid record of 35-10 through 45 games under head coach Adrian Griffin, the Bucks posted a miserable record of 3-7 in their first 10 matchups with Rivers at the helm – while ranking 25th in offensive rating and scoring 110 points or less in six of those contests.

However, it’s important to note that six of those 10 games were away matchups for Milwaukee – and on the season, the Bucks have posted records of 24-7 at home and 16-14 on the road. So it’s tough to blame Rivers for their slow start following the coaching change, considering he’s been with the team for just 15 games, and 10 of those have been road games – and Milwaukee struggling away from home isn’t exactly new.

With that in mind, the fact that Milwaukee has managed to get the wheels back on track over the last few weeks is quite encouraging. The Bucks are now 5-0 in their last five games, and they played four of those games on the road – and won three of them by double-digits.

While on the flip side, the Clippers find themselves in a little bit of a rough patch – with records of 5-5 SU and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games –  and tonight they will be playing on the second half of a brutal back-to-back set after narrowly edging out the T-Wolves by a score of 89-88 yesterday afternoon.

Similarly to Milwaukee, the Clippers own records of 21-8 at home and 18-12 on the road this season – and the rest disadvantage may hurt even more now with Russell Westbrook sidelined with a fractured hand for the foreseeable future.

This is a really tough spot for an LAC team that has been known to struggle away from home. I’m laying the points with Milwaukee tonight.

Pick: Bucks -5 (-110)

Thunder vs Lakers

by Alex Smart

Los Angeles Lakers -1 (-109)

The Lakers have played the Thunder tough lately winning the last two meetings this season, and will be primed for a big time effort here at home after blowing their last chance to take down a . Western Conference power Denver. Meanwhile, the Thunder enter off a 118-110 road victory against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and are on tired legs and vulnerable here in this spot play situation.

LA LAKERS are 17-6 ATS in home games versus good offensive teams - scoring 116+ points/game over the last 2 seasons.

NBA team (LA LAKERS) - in a game involving two good three point shooting teams (36.5% or more ) after 42+ games, after 2 straight games - allowing a shooting pct. of 50% or higher are 52-26 L/5 seasons for a 67% conversion rate.

Play on the LA Lakers to cover
