The Bulldogs trailed for most of the game until George got a layup to roll in while drawing a foul on Boise State's Robert Arnold with 48.5 seconds remaining. The resulting free throw gave Fresno State a 68-66 lead.

After La'Shard Anderson's baseline jumper tied the game with 22.6 seconds to go, George again drove for a layup with 15.8 seconds left while drawing another foul on Arnold.

Anderson's off-balance three-pointer hit the rim and bounced away as time expired.

Daequon Montreal led Boise State (9-5, 0-1) with 24 points off the bench.
