CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Josh Terry's last-second layup in overtime, off an assist from TyShwan Edmonson, gave Austin Peay an 86-85 Ohio Valley Conference victory over Morehead State on Tuesday night.
After Kenneth Faried's dunk gave Morehead State an 85-84 lead with 35 seconds left, Terry missed a jumper at the 0:09 mark for the Governors (8-6, 4-0) but Edmonson was able to secure the rebound. The winning play came after a timeout by each team.
Demonte Harper, whose 34 points led the Eagles (6-6, 2-2), hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime tied 76-76. Neither team led by more than six points in the game.
Edmondson led the Governors with 22 points, Melvin Baker had 19 and Terry 17. Caleb Brown had 13 points and eight assists.
Sam Goodman scored 16 points, Terrance Hill 15 and Faried 14 for Morehead State. Faried, the nation's leading rebounder, grabbed 18.
