Now that the BCS Era is over in college football, bettors can turn their attention to the College Football Playoff in 2014. Under the new postseason system, four teams meet in two semifinal games, with the winners advancing to the championship.
The four teams will be selected by a committee rather than using computer rankings or polls, which was the process for the BCS Championship. The 2014 semifinals will be played on Jan. 1, 2015 from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA and Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA. The winners will square off on Jan. 12, 2015 at AT&T Stadium from Arlington, TX.
Jay Kornegay and his staff of oddsmakers at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (LVH) SuperBook have installed Florida State as a 5/2 favorite (Bet $100 to win $250) to win the inaugural College Football Playoff.
The 2013-14 runner-up, Auburn, is listed as a 20/1 choice (Bet $100 to win $2,000).
Below are all of the opening odds from the LVH.
