The Breeders’ Cup is in the books but before we know it, we will be heading down the Road to the Kentucky Derby which gets underway in earnest in February and coming up in just over two months is the $9 million Pegasus World Cup (G1).

Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) champ Accelerate has the Pegasus on his radar and is the early betting favorite. The race would likely be his last before hitting the breeding shed.

Several exiting the Classic are likely to head to Gulfstream Park for one of the richest races in the world. Among those are Classic runner up Gunnevera and fourth place finisher Yoshida.

Yoshida is a Grade 1 winner on turf and he could go in the first running of the $7 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1), but his connections seemed determined to keep him on dirt.

The race will definitely pick up some added interest if Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner Monomoy Girl takes on the boys. The race has been mentioned by her connections and she likely would be among the top four or five betting choices in the race.

Another Breeders’ Cup winner that could go in the Pegasus is City of Light, an impressive winner of the Dirt Mile (G1) last Saturday.

It is back out to Aqueduct this afternoon and while the weather is finally on the improve some rain fell on Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully with the sunny conditions we are going to see today prevents the races to be moved to the main track.

Analysis: Acting Chipper improved in her second career start when stretching out to a mile at Laurel Park, making a good late bid to finish third just missing the place spot by a head. Another move forward puts this gal in the winner's circle here for the Nevin barn. She is by Street Sense out of the stakes winner Acting Happy ($262,470) her first foal to race.

Face It stalked the early pace and picked it up late to rally for third while missing the place spot by a half-length. The runner up was Our Circle Of Love, who came back to graduate in her next outing on Nov. 2 by 8 1/2 lengths on Nov. 2. She should have no problem handling her first trip at a mile. She is by Tapit out of the stakes winner Catboat ($221,659) who ash dropped three winners, top earner stakes winner It's Tricky ($1.66 million).

Analysis: Arch of Troy tracked the early pace and finished evenly in a third-place finish on the main track at Belmont Park at this level in a race taken off the turf. Two back on good turf at the Spa this gal was beaten just a neck going a mile in a game effort. She has a pair of wins on turf, her last a win versus Alw-1 optional claimers at Santa Anita last fall. The Mott trainee has handled ground with some give to it.

Purely Lucky needs a scratch to get in off the AE list. Last out against state bred Alw-2 optional claimers she prompted the early pace and tired to finish eighth. She has landed in the exacta in 5 of her 10 trips on turf and ran okay on yielding ground two back. She is in good hands with the Cox barn and looks like a good fit here if she gets into the field and this stays on turf.
