OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Gavin Floyd has had a lot of success against the Oakland Athletics throughout his career. He's also been good on the road this season.

That all changed Saturday when the Chicago White Sox lost 6-2 to the Oakland Athletics in Floyd's shortest outing of the season.

``Out of the gate it was a little bit of a struggle finding the strike zone,' Floyd said. ``The ball was up. I made an adjustment and I tried everything to keep the ball down. There are times you are not going to be at your best. It just happened today I didn't pitch very well.'

Floyd allowed as many runs in this game as he had in 34 previous innings against the A's. He fell to 3-1 in seven starts against Oakland. It was his first loss on the road in five starts.

``Gavin was struggling the whole game,' White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. ``He was driving the wrong way, almost the whole game, against traffic. He had a tough time finding the plate and being consistent.'

Paul Konerko homered and Adam Dunn doubled twice for the White Sox, who lost for the second time in seven games.

``I don't know how they do it; they find pitchers everywhere,' Guillen said. ``Every time you come to this town, it's just one after another after another. It's always been like that. Every time you come to Oakland you're going to face good pitching.'

Floyd (4-3) allowed five runs and nine hits in 4 1-3 innings, his shortest start since last Sept. 24 when he hurt his shoulder before throwing a pitch against the A's.

Kevin Kouzmanoff doubled in the second and scored on Cliff Pennington's single. Daric Barton's sacrifice fly made it 2-0.

In the fifth, David DeJesus hit his second triple in as many days, and his third of the season, for a 4-0 lead. Kurt Suzuki followed with a single, ending Floyd's afternoon.

Konerko's home run moved him past Rocky Colavito for 67th on the career home run list with 375.

NOTES: Oakland's Ryan Sweeney went 0 for 5, ending his season-best seven-game hitting streak. ... A's starter Tyson Ross made his 11th start in the majors. He was injured Wednesday in a game against the Los Angeles Angels. ... The Rangers-Athletics rainout from Wednesday has been rescheduled for July 7 at Texas. ... A's RHP Andrew Bailey threw 1 1-3 innings in an extended spring training game, allowing a run and two hits. He'll be in Oakland on Sunday and could possibly be sent on a rehab assignment. ... Chicago's bullpen has an 0.40 ERA over its past 10 games.
