Hilton super contest:
Heading into the last week of Las Vegas most prestigious football handicapping contest we have one of the tightest races ever. Peter and Paul lead the way with 52 ½ points. Jarhead has 51 ½, Betaadss 51, Azeri 50 ½ and TheSportsPage.com 50.
Here is a look at week 17 consensus picks with the contest up for grabs. We had no over whelming choices this week.
The San Francisco 49ers get the top spot this week laying 1 ½ over the road weary Seattle Seahawks. Seattle needs a victory for a shot at the playoffs while the 49ers are just closing out the season without big mouth Terrell Owens. We had 79 contestants picking the home 49ers.
The Philadelphia Eagles a road chalk of 6 ½ at Washington come in at number two. The Eagles need the win to get the NFC East title. The Redskins have lost 9 of 11 games. We had 66 backers on the Eagles.
The Arizona Cardinals get the third nod catching a big number at +7 ½ at home vs. the hope to be playoff bound Minnesota Vikings. We had 61 players taking the Cards as a home dog.
The cover crazy New England Patriots laying 8 ½ at home to the sorry Buffalo Bills come in 4th place. The Patriots are playing for home field in the AFC. We had 58 people on New England.
Station Casinos Gamblers Challenge:
Just like the Hilton contest, handicappers in the Challenge posted San Francisco over Seattle on Saturday as the biggest consensus play with 35 selections.
The second highest pick could be a bit of a surprise, as 23 people chose Tampa Bay as a seven-point road underdog against Tennessee.
Rounding out the top four plays was a tie between two teams. The Cowboys and the Patriots were both pick 22 times respectively.
