ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Anton Lander scored in the second round of the shootout and Devan Dubnyk made three shootout saves to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 preseason victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night.
Lander also had a goal and an assist in regulation as the Oilers rallied from two goals down with less than 10 minutes to play. Ryan Jones and Linus Omark also scored for Edmonton (5-2). Dubnyk made 22 saves for Edmonton, which will complete its postseason Saturday night by hosting Vancouver.
Mikko Koivu, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Devin Setoguchi scored for Minnesota (3-4), while Niklas Backstrom stopped 34 shots in the Wild's preseason finale.
Omark and Jones scored 27 seconds apart late in the third period to tie the game and force overtime.
After Lander won a faceoff, Omark beat Backstrom at 13:38 of the third period to cut the Wild lead to 3-2. Jones tied the game at 14:05 when he knocked in the rebound of Jeff Petry's shot.
The Oilers had a go-ahead goal taken off the board with 1:38 remaining when Gilbert Brule was called for crosschecking. It was ruled that the penalty occurred before the puck was tipped past Backstrom.
Koivu gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead just 47 seconds into the third period, taking a pass from Marek Zidlicky on at the left point and beating Dubnyk on the glove side with a slap shot. Zidlicky finished with two assists.
Koivu set up Setoguchi for the Wild's third goal five minutes later. Taking the pass from Koivu, Setoguchi took two strides and launched a slap shot from the right circle that beat Dubnyk and gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead.
Edmonton defenseman Taylor Fedun broke his right leg after getting his skates tangled with a stick while racing Minnesota's Eric Nystrom for a loose puck in the second period. Fedun left the ice on a stretcher and was taken to a hospital and did not make the trip back to Edmonton with his teammates.
Nystrom was given a five-minute major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct.
Edmonton was forced to play part of the second period and all of the third with only three defensemen. Ladislav Smid (right shoulder) and Taylor Chorney (right knee) also were injured during the game.
After a scoreless first period, Bouchard gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead with a goal just 37 seconds into the second. Bouchard got the puck the corner, skated along the goal line and flipped a backhand past Dubnyk.
Lander was awarded a penalty shot and tied the game at 6:57 of the second after being hooked from behind by Zidlicky. Lander backhanded the puck over Backstrom's glove.
Minnesota hosts Columbus next Friday to open the regular season. Edmonton hosts Pittsburgh on Oct. 9.
