CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -Kris Versteeg scored two power-play goals in Chicago's five-goal second period to help the Blackhawks rout the Calgary Flames 7-1 on Thursday night in a rematch of a first-round playoff series.

The Blackhawks beat the Flames in six games last season in the playoffs, ending the series with a 4-1 victory in Calgary. On Oct. 12 in Chicago in their first meeting of the season, the Blackhawks overcame a 5-0 deficit to beat the Flames 6-5 in overtime.

Troy Brouwer and Patrick Kane added power-play goals for the Blackhawks, 4 for 5 with the man advantage, and Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd and Ben Eager also scored.

Cristobal Huet made 27 saves, allowing only Olli Jokinen's power-play goal.

OTTAWA (AP) - Chris Phillips scored twice in his 800th regular-season game and Pascal Leclaire made 25 saves for Ottawa.

Phillips, who entered with one goal in 18 games, scored goals 2:03 apart in the third to put Ottawa up 5-1 and chase Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

Milan Michalek got his 100th career goal and Matt Carkner, Chris Kelly and Jonathan Cheechoo also scored for Ottawa, which won its second in a row. Mike Fisher had three assists for the Senators.

Jordan Staal scored early in the first, and Evgeni Malking had a power-play goal late in the third for Pittsburgh, which gave up six straight goals after taking a 1-0 lead 1:09 in. Fleury left 7:12 into the third after allowing five goals. Brent Johnson stopped six of seven shots the rest of the way.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Tuomo Ruutu and Jussi Jokinen scored in the shootout and Carolina rallied from three goals down to beat Toronto.

Ian White put the Maple Leafs ahead 5-4 with 29.9 seconds remaining, but Erik Cole tapped in a rebound with 2.9 seconds left to force overtime.

Tim Gleason scored twice in the third period, Matt Cullen had a goal and an assist, and he and Stephane Yelle scored 43 seconds apart in the second to lead Carolina. Manny Legace stopped 27 shots, and Ruutu finished with four assists for the Hurricanes in their club-record fourth straight overtime game.

Alexei Ponikarovsky had a goal and an assist, and Matt Stajan, Lee Stempniak and Mikhail Grabovski also scored for the Maple Leafs, who led 3-0 after one period but extended their winless streak to five.

ATLANTA (AP) - Patrice Bergeron scored the only goal of the shootout and Boston snapped a three-game losing streak and ended Atlanta's winning streak at four.

The Thrashers picked up a point when Maxim Afinogenov scored with 41.4 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Tuukka Rask stopped all three Atlanta skaters in the shootout, turning aside shots by Rich Peverley, Slava Kozlov and Ilya Kovalchuk. Bergeron scored on Boston's opening attempt, faking Ondrej Pavelec out of position and stuffing the puck into an open net.

Michael Ryder scored twice, and Marco Sturm also had a regulation goal for Boston. Kovalchuk and Nik Antropov also scored for Atlanta.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Erik Johnson scored on an end-to-end rush 17 seconds into overtime to give St. Louis its first victory in five overtime game this season.

After Phoenix put the puck in St. Louis' end, Johnson gained control, skated up left wing and crossed the Coyotes' blue line with the puck. The defenseman moved into the high slot and beat goalie Ilya Bryzgalov with a wrist shot.

Keith Tkachuk and T J. Oshie also scored for St. Louis. Blues goalie Chris Mason made 34 saves. Radim Vrbata and Vernon Fidder scored for Phoenix.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Mike Santorelli and Martin Erat scored shootout goals, and Jason Arnott had two goals in regulation for Nashville.

Pekka Rinne stopped two of New Jersey's three shooters in the tiebreaker for his fourth consecutive victory. New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur took the loss after winning his first three shootouts of the season.

Zach Parise scored twice for New Jersey.

DALLAS (AP) - Rick Nash scored on a power play and Kristian Huselius added a short-handed goal for Columbus in the final second of the fight-filled opening period.

Huselius and Raffi Torres added goals during a 5-minute power play in the second period, Steve Mason made 24 saves, and the Blue Jackets went on to win their third straight and improve to 6-1-1 in their last eight games.

Dallas' Mike Modano scored his 546th career goal.
