The week at Belmont Park starts with a Pick 6 carryover of $176,813 as the wager was unsolved over the weekend. I am going to take a stab at it this afternoon, and it is not an easy card with no real solid looking singles.
They say lightning rarely strikes twice, but my main computer would beg to differ. I have had my office zapped twice in the past two weeks, and my main desktop is sitting in the shop, while I am typing away on my laptop. So please excuse any typos you see the next couple of days as it seems my fingers have grown or the keyboard has shrunk, I am not sure which.
The Pick 6 starts with the fifth race today with a post time of 3:09pm eastern and there are no free squares or small fields. Only one race has less than nine runners before scratches, and with the weather forecast calling for perfect conditions, we certainly will be on the grass today.
In four of the six races today my top pick is 6-1 or higher on the morning line, including today's feature where Rock my Heart (6-1) is my top pick.
I only have one morning line favorite as my top pick, and that is Don't Say No (3-1) in the opening leg of the sequence.
The Jason Servis trainee was bumped coming out of the gate, stalked the early pace from the outside, came six wide turning for home and did not have enough punch left late in a sixth place finish, beaten four lengths for the top spot. The winner was Beer Is Good, who came back to beat restricted $15,000 claimers in his next outing on Sept. 15.
I don't think he is a solid single and I will be using Martini Madness (4-1) and Smiling Bob (7-2) on some of my tickets.

Here is today’s opening race from Belmont Park to get the day off to a good start:
Analysis: Rubindy is a $475,000 Keeneland purchase making her debut for the Chad Brown barn that is 12% winners with first timers. The filly has a nice pedigree, by Bernardini out of a Rubiano mare that has dropped three foals to race including a pair of stakes winners, top earner Beautician ($636,175). She has solid looking works on the morning tab.
Storm Swept debuts for the Pletcher barn that is 29% winners with first timers. The filly is a half to eight winners including one stakes winner, top earner Changing Weather ($331,395). She has plenty of works on the morning tab including a couple of all weather and turf and most recently a couple of solid works at the Spa. Pletcher has been on a roll with his juvies and this filly looks ready to fire at first asking.
WIN: #6 to win at 5-2 or better.
EX: 3,6 / 1,3,6
TRI: no play
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Belmont Park:
BEL Race 8 OClm $62,500N2L (4:45 ET) 7 Rock my Heart 6-1 6 Floral Romance 2-1 3 Mariel N Kathy 7-2 8 Sweet and Lovely 4-1
Analysis: Rock my Heart was pinched back coming out of the gate last out and was not much of a threat in a seventh place finish in her U.S. debut at this level. The filly takes the blinkers off and makes her second start off a four month break here for the Chad Brown barn. She won two of her eight starts overseas, both wins coming in Germany. She figures to move forward second off the bench and with a better start and it looks as if she is going to be a fair price in this spot.
Floral Romance came off a two month break with a solid effort last out in a runner up finish at the Spa at this level. She earned the top last out speed fig in the effort and in just her sixth career start appears to have more upside than most of this group. She has a solid pedigree, by After Market out of the stakes winner Proposed ($567,600).
WIN: #7 to win at 7-2 or better.
EX: 6,7 / 3,6,7,8
TRI: 6,7 / 3,6,7,8 / 1,3,6,7,8
These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.

R2: #6 Daddy Loves Gold 12-1
R2: #2 Darling Bridezilla 20-1
R6: #3 White Sangria 12-1
