We came up with three winners on top in eight races (one race was washed off the turf), producing a small profit and I managed to hit five recommended exactas.
The exactas came up on the light side, paying $11.60, $21.40, $9.40, $25.60, and $11.80.
That makes things look chalky, but seven-pound bug Jackie Davis booted home two longshots, paying $56.50 and $71.50.
One day last week we had Davis on top on two huge longshots, but she failed to bring home either of those for us.
Thanks for nothing Jackie.
Davis is a graduate of the North American Racing Academy founded by hall of fame jockey Chris McCarron.
She has pretty good genes, the daughter of retired jockey Robbie Davis, who retired in 2002 with over 3,000 winners.
Jackie could overtake my favorite bug Angel Serpa if she picks up a few more wins like yesterday, riding both of those winners like a veteran.
Rain fell overnight, but the sun is supposed to make an appearance this afternoon in New York. The turf course was listed as yielding yesterday and I am guessing we are going to be on the turf today.
There is turf racing scheduled through Sunday, then it is nothing but the inner dirt track until we thaw out next spring.

Here is today's opening race from Aqueduct to get our day off to a good start:
AQU Race 1 Clm $25,000B (12:30 ET)
#1 Catty Madeline 7/2
#2 Cherokee Gem 3/1
#4 Graceful Ginger 4/1
#6 See the Forest 5/1
Analysis: #1 Catty Madeline came up the inside with a good late rally to check in third last out on the turf against state bred Alw-2 optional claimers. The runner up in the race was Karakorum Elektra, who came back to win the Memories of Silver Stakes in her next outing on Oct. 8. Two and three back she was in the mix for a $35K non-winners of three tag behind a pair of repeat winners. The filly has done her best running on turf but she looks well spotted here coming off the bench for the Levine barn that is 31% winners (with a +ROI) with horses coming back off a 61-180 day layoff. The filly has a couple of quick works over dirt since her last outing.
#2 Cherokee Gem invades from NJ and goes from Volk to Dutrow with JRod the named trainer. Her last in the slop was not pretty but she earned numbers back in July that are good enough to win here. The barn is showing no signs of slowing down, going 5 for 16 since Dutrow started his forced vacation.

Today's Featured Race of the Day from Aqueduct:
AQU Race 8 OClm $50,000N2X (3:44 ET)
#5 Song of Solomon 3/1
#1 Pamona Ball 5/2
#3 Successful Sarah 5/1
#7 Pumpkin Shell 6/1
Analysis: #5 Song of Solomon made a mild late rally to finish third last out after getting blocked in traffic at the quarter pole, beaten 4 3/4 lengths for the top spot. The filly makes her second start since April for the Tony D. barn that has hit in NY at a 40% clip the last 90 days. The filly was a $525K purchase and was good enough to pass her first allowance condition at Keeneland.
#1 Pamona Ball dueled for the early lead and could not match strides late with the winner in a runner up finish going a one turn mile on the main track. The filly caught a surface that was not kind to speed that day, most of the winners coming fro off the pace and from the outer paths.
