MONROE, La. (AP) - Raymond Taylor scored 20 points and Florida Atlantic held on to beat Louisiana-Monroe 60-58 in Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday night.
The Owls (8-5, 2-0) led 22-6 with eight minutes remaining in the opening half and entered halftime with a 32-26 advantage.
Tommie Sykes hit two free throws with 43 seconds left to play, pulling the Warhawks within two, 60-58.
After stealing the ball from Alex Tucker with 25 seconds to go, Sykes was fouled by Brett Royster and stepped to the free-throw line with 0.2 seconds left.
