SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Michael Williams scored a career-high 26 points and San Francisco snapped a four-game losing streak with a 69-57 victory against Hampton on Thursday night in the Dons' own Hilltop Challenge tournament.
Rashad Green had a season-best 17 points and Angelo Caloiaro added a career-high 14 rebounds for USF (5-9), which opened up a tight game with a 10-2 run to begin the second half. The Pirates (10-3), who won 10 of their previous 11 games, never got within six points after that.
USF committed only seven turnovers, almost 10 fewer than their season average, starving Hampton of fuel for the Pirates' fast break.
Kwame Morgan led Hampton with 17 points and Brandon Tunnell added 12.
