PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Jamie Harris scored 28 points and Drexel defeated Vermont 74-61 on Friday.
The Dragons (2-3) led 54-41 with 12:06 to play before Vermont scored 10 straight points during the next 2:30. Marqus Blakely cut the Catamounts' deficit to 54-51 on a layup with 9:26 left in the Legends Classic.
However, Drexel outscored Vermont 20-10 the rest of the way, pushing its lead to as large as 74-59 on two free throws by Harris.
Gerald Colds added 16 points and Chris Fouch 14 for the Dragons, who shot 46.6 percent from the field (27 of 58).
Drexel trailed 14-13 with 12:28 left until halftime, before scoring 12 unanswered points as part of a 19-2 run. The Dragons led by as many as 32-16 in the first half on a layup by Shannon Givens with 7:32 left remaining.
Blakely finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for the Catamounts (2-3).
