PHOENIX (AP) - Daniel Hudson has been more than a little lost on the mound the past two weeks.

``I don't know what's going on right now,' Hudson said after the Arizona Diamondbacks 12-9, 10-inning loss to the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. ``I've just got to figure it out. It's just a stretch where when I make a good pitch it finds a hole and I can't make a pitch to get out of an inning.'

Hudson appeared to be back on track when he scattered five hits over seven innings against the Rangers six days after giving up six runs in only 1 2-3 innings versus Oakland.

But things unraveled for him anew against Seattle. Hudson carried a 5-2 lead into the fifth inning, but faced only five batters without recording an out in the frame before being sent to the dugout to watch the end of what would be a six-run inning for the Mariners.

``He wasn't consistent in hitting his spots,' said Arizona manager Kirk Gibson. ``The balls they hit were mistakes. He got a little frustrated.'

Hudson lasted four innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

``If I could put a finger on it, I would,' he said.

The Diamondbacks rallied from that 8-5 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and took a 9-8 lead in the sixth on an RBI single by Miguel Montero.

But the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. First David Hernandez gave up a game-tying sacrifice fly to Ichiro Suzuki in the eighth to tie the game 9-9. Then J.J. Putz (1-4), going out for a very rare second inning of work after not pitching for eight days, allowed two runs with recording an out in the 10th.

``Asking J.J. to go out there for the 10th, I knew it was going to be a tough task,' Gibson said. ``He hasn't pitched in eight days then we ask him to go out for a second inning. It's a situation where you're just trying to get as much out of your pitchers as you can.'

Aaron Hill, Gerardo Parra and Paul Goldschmidt homered for the Diamondbacks, who saw their six-game home winning streak snapped.

Ichiro Suzuki led off the game with his 2,500th career hit and finished 4 for 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Mariners.

Justin Smoak, Brendan Ryan and Kyle Seager homered for the Mariners, who have won three of their past four.

Charlie Furbish (3-1) struck out four over two scoreless innings and Tom Wilhelmsen struck out the side in the ninth for his fifth save.

NOTES: Wells is 9 for 17 with a homer and four RBIs since he was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on June 13. . Mariners relievers had allowed only one run in their past 19 innings before giving up four runs in their first two innings Tuesday. ... Hill doubled in the first for his fifth consecutive hit before hitting a sacrifice fly to shallow center in the third to end his streak. ... RHP Trevor Cahill takes the mound for Arizona against LHP Jason Vargas in an afternoon getaway day game on Wednesday. Vargas is 2-0 in his career against the Diamondbacks but hasn't started against Arizona since June 20, 2009. Cahill is 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA in his last three starts.
