NBA: Thunder vs. Timberwolves Game 5 Pick, Prediction

Although each Conference Finals series is 3-1 after four games, the Wolves will be the first to attempt extending their season tonight at the Paycom Center at 8:30 PM ET against the Thunder.

The Timberwolves are coming off a brutal loss, where they put in one of their best offensive outputs of the season.

Anthony Edwards and co. will look to steal one on the road tonight in an attempt to get in front of their raucous home crowd for a potential game six.

MIN @ OKC Odds

As we stated above, the last game was an outlier of sorts for Minnesota. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo combined for 44 points off the bench, while Jaden McDaniels chipped in 22 points himself.

It’ll be interesting to monitor whether Minnesota can have a short-term memory after such a devastating loss. Whether that’s the case or not, we’re willing to bet on some Minnesota regression on account of big man Rudy Gobert.

The French native is coming off his best game of the series with 13 points and 9 rebounds. However, this was by far his best output, as he’s failed to surpass 15 combined points and rebounds in the previous three games.

Although Gobert is coming off his strongest statistical output on offense, he was a complete non-factor on defense as OKC elected to go smaller, running Chet Holmgren at the 5 with four other guards, as Isaiah Hartenstein only played 16 minutes. This led to a myriad of open looks for the Thunder.

Not only are we banking on some regression from Gobert, but don’t be surprised if Minnesota Chris Finch goes with the more nimble and offensive-minded Naz Reid in an effort to keep up with the Thunder in tonight’s must-win.

PICK: RUDY GOBERT UNDER 15.5 POINTS & REBOUNDS
