GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES PREDICTIONS

After finishing eighth in the West with a record of 38-34 SU last year, Memphis kept that same ball rolling with a similarly pedestrian start to this season, as the Grizzlies opened with a lackluster 9-10 SU and 10-9 ATS run – with nine of those losses coming by 10+ PTS.

The Grizzlies have quickly picked up the pace since their lackluster start though, considering Memphis sits at 19-4 SU and 17-6 ATS across the last 23 games – despite getting tagged as underdogs in 11 of those contests.

On the other hand, Golden State stormed out to a triumphant start to the season, as the Warriors entered December boasting impressive tallies of 18-3 SU and 15-5-1 ATS – with 14 of those victories coming by double-digits.

The last few weeks have been relatively shaky for the Warriors though, considering Golden State is just 12-7 SU and 8-10-1 ATS across the last 19 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 15 of those contests.

I’ll back Memphis at home here, as the Warriors enter Tuesday having scored 96 PTS or less in four of their last six games (3-3 SU) – setting the stage for an incredibly tough road matchup against a Grizzlies squad that’s averaging 117.7 PPG across its current nine-game win streak.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 30-9
  • ATS: 23-14-2
  • O/U: 13-25-1

After last year’s mediocre 39-33 SU regular-season showing, Golden State posted a surprisingly dominant start to the new season, as the Warriors opened with wins in 18-of-20 games – with their only two losses across that span coming by slim margins of four points or less.

Golden State ran into a bit of a rough patch around New Year’s though, considering the Warriors enter Tuesday sitting at just 12-7 SU and 8-10-1 ATS across their last 19 games – but luckily, Klay Thompson has arrived on the scene at just the right moment, as the five-time All-Star scored 17 PTS in 20 minutes of action during his season debut against Cleveland on Sunday night (W, 96-82).

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 28-14
  • ATS: 27-15
  • O/U: 21-21

After posting another relatively pedestrian start to the season (9-10 SU, 10-9 ATS), Memphis briefly escaped the league’s radar, as the Grizzlies ended up getting tagged as underdogs in seven-of-ten matchups near the calendar turn from November to December.

The Grizzlies have played excellent since that point though, considering Memphis boasts impressive records of 19-4 SU and 17-6 ATS across the last 23 games – despite getting tagged as underdogs in eight of those affairs.

The Grizzlies are 9-0 SU and ATS across their last nine games. (AP)

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Warriors won two-of-three regular-season matchups against Memphis last year, with all three of those contests staying under the total at an average of 215.6 PPG.

Golden State and Memphis split their first two matchups of this season though, which resulted in another pair of relatively low-scoring events – ringing in at an average of 211 PPG.

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • GSW: Steph Curry - PG (26.8 PPG, 5.3 REB, 6 AST)
  • GSW: Klay Thompson - SG (1/9 vs. CLE - 20 MIN, 17 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST)
  • MEM: Ja Morant - PG (24.7 PPG, 5.8 REB, 6.7 AST)
  • MEM: Desmond Bane - SG (17.7 PPG, 4.5 REB, 2.4 AST)

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES BETTING CONCLUSION

After extending their winning streak to nine at Staples Center on Sunday night (W, 127-119), the Grizzlies return home for Tuesday’s contest as narrow underdogs against the visiting Warriors – marking the fourth time Memphis has been an underdog across the last six games.

I’ll take the points with Memphis here, as Golden State is an incredibly tempting option with the Splash Brothers now back in sync – but betting against the Grizzlies at home just doesn’t seem wise at the moment.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES BETTING TRENDS

  • The Grizzlies are 9-0 SU and ATS across their last nine games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in seven of the last nine matchups between Memphis and Golden State.
  • The Warriors are 2-4 ATS in their last six games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in five straight Grizzlies' home games.
