Grizzlies-Cavaliers Over 223.5 (-110)

The Cavaliers currently rank dead-last in the league in pace and 26th in scoring, which plays to their strengths in most cases, as they typically prefer to slow things down and lean on their second-ranked defensive unit.

However, as the season progresses, the Cavs have strayed away from the aspect of their game that separated them from the rest of the pack early in the year, and it’s shown up in their recent results, considering they’re now 9-10 in their last 19 games, while ranking 13th in the league in defensive rating during that stretch (114.1 DRtg).

While on the other hand, the Grizzlies enter Thursday following losses in six of their last seven games, with three of those losses coming by a slim two-point margins in matchups against the Lakers, Suns, and Warriors.

Make no mistake, though, this Memphis squad’s recent struggles certainly aren’t due to any changes in their style of play, considering the Grizzlies have continued to run at the fifth-fastest pace in the league across their latest 1-6 skid, which certainly tracks with the fact that they’ve combined with their opponents for a lofty average of 229 PPG throughout the season.

Despite their latest shortcomings, the Cavaliers have now cleared the 112-point scoring mark in eight of their last 12 contests. So,  in a matchup against a Grizzlies squad that ranks Top 5 in the league in pace, we’ll probably see this one soar over the low number.

Miami Heat -2 (-110) @ NYK

The Knicks and Heat are neck-and-neck in the heart of the Eastern Conference standings at the moment, with Miami currently boasting a slight advantage at 29-23, compared to New York owning a record of 27-25. However, don't be fooled, this is a matchup between two teams trending in entirely opposite directions.

The Knicks enter Thursday having lost six of their last eight games, and it’s not like they’ve drawn matchups against a bunch of powerhouse opponents recently either, highlighted by New York taking losses to the Wizards, Hawks, Lakers, Raptors, and Nets (without Durant) across their latest 2-6 skid.

While on the other hand, Miami stumbled out to a miserable 7-11 start to the season, but make no mistake, this has been one of the best squads in basketball since mid-December, considering the Heat are now 18-9 in their last 27 games, while ranking Top 10 in the league in net rating during that span (+2.3 NetRtg).

So, I’ll back Miami to handle business on the road in tonight’s matchup against a Knicks squad that ranks dead-last in the league in defensive rating since January 16th (123.9 DRtg).

Kawhi Leonard (LAC) Over 27.5 Points (-105) @ MIL

Everything is finally beginning to come together for Los Angeles. The Clippers enter Thursday following wins in six of their last seven games, and a huge part of their recent success comes thanks to Kawhi Leonard, considering he’s averaged 37 PTS, 5.9 REB, and 4.3 AST across the Clippers latest seven-game stretch.

Leonard has now scored 27+ points in seven of his last eight outings, with five of those performances ringing in north of the 30-point mark. So, I’ll back that trend to continue in what should ultimately be a high-scoring matchup against a Bucks squad that’s racked up 124+ points in six of their last eight contests (128 PPG).
