Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Predictions

Jrue Holiday played the last two games for Milwaukee. They also saw Bobby Portis return to the rotation and even start on Sunday against the Wizards. Khris Middleton is still out with COVID, and Brook Lopez expects to sit Tuesday night with his back injury. They still have Giannis.

The Bucks struggled out of the gate but have since learned to live without stars on the floor, so long as their biggest one remains. Without Embiid, it’s now on Andre Drummond and Georges Niang to slow down Giannis. The Bucks will be as good as their MVP takes them against a super-depleted Sixers team.

Philadelphia will not quit, not at home at the very least. They showed that Monday night in their eventual loss to the Knicks. The biggest issue the Sixers face – outside of not having Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, and Embiid – will be coming off the first leg of a back-to-back.

Seth Currydidn’t do much against the Knicks and Furkan Korkmaz was marginally better. Drummond grabbed a ton of rebounds, but they couldn’t stop Julies Randle. They won’t stop Giannis either.

The Bucks have dropped six of their first ten and their last two straight games. They’ve lost four of five, either way it’s not good when you look at the starting stretch of the season. This is the perfect opportunity for the Bucks to get a win, so long as they show up. Holiday back is huge for this team – especially on the defensive end.

Without Middleton and Lopez, the void for scoring may fall on someone like Portis. There isn’t much the Sixers have in the form of firepower – already down their top two scorers. The Bucks are rested – at least those players who are healthy – and should be able to run the Sixers up and down the floor.

Doc Rivers has a huge task on his hands heading into this game, as he’s maintained the team will go deeper into its bench. They just don’t have anyone left. They played three guys off the bench, and one of them only had four minutes. The Sixers aren’t expected to get anyone back, so no Embiid, Harris, Simmons (already out), and Matisse Thybulle.

They are down their top point producers and their best perimeter defender. While Simmons has been out since the start of the season, the latter absences are more recent. They all pile up Tuesday night. The Sixers have some weapons and should keep it relatively close, but Curry and Korkmaz aren’t enough.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 4-6
  • ATS: 4-6
  • O/U: 2-8

Giannis leads the way with 27.3 PPG, 11.1 RPG, and 6 APG. He’s shooting just over 51% from the field. Middleton is normally the second-leading scorer with 20 PPG. His absence means more work for Grayson Allen, who’s scoring 14.5 PPG off 43% shooting. Jrue Holiday missed time but is at 13 PPG on 50% shooting. Portis and Pat Connaughton are the last two Bucks averaging double-figures, each at 10 PPG.

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 8-3
  • ATS: 7-4
  • O/U: 3-8

Normally the Sixers put out a rotation featuring two guys accounting for 41 PPG. But Embiid and his 21.4 PPG, 9.4 RPG, and 4 APG will be out – as will Harris and his 19.8 PPG, 9 RPG, and 4.2 APG. There’s a huge amount of production gone with these two missing. Curry averages 17.1 PG, Maxey adds 14.2 PPG.

Korkmaz continues to shoot well and is averaging 12.4 PPG. Niang and Milton are both just under 12 PPG for the year. When healthy, the Sixers have seven players who average double digits in scoring.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Conclusion

Two teams missing as many impact players as we’ll see Tuesday night makes this an easy play. Don’t overthink any trend or stat heading into this matchup, as the Bucks simply have the better talent on the floor – really at all times.

They are rested from their last game where the Sixers played 7 players 20+ mins the previous night. Milwaukee has one of the best players in the history of the NBA versus a frontcourt of backups. The Bucks could even play down, let the Sixers hang, and still pull away by 10 or more points.
