After finishing 10th in the East with a record of 33-39 SU last year, Charlotte jumped out to a surprisingly strong to this season, as the Hornets opened with a sturdy 13-8 SU and 12-9 ATS run – despite getting tagged as underdogs in 15 of those matchups.

The Hornets have been relatively pedestrian since their opening stretch though, considering Charlotte sits at 10-12 SU and 14-8 ATS across the last 22 games – while getting tagged as favorites in just five of those matchups.

On the other hand, New York also jumped out to an excellent start to the season, as the Knicks opened with an impressive 7-4 SU and 6-5 ATS run– which included tough victories over the Sixers (2), Bucks, Celtics, Bulls.

The Knicks have looked like a shell of that squad since their hot start though, considering New York dwells at just 15-17 SU and ATS across their last 32 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 17 of those contests.

I’ll take the points with Charlotte here, as the Hornets have played solid basketball as of late, currently sitting at 4-1 SU and ATS across their latest five-game stretch, while averaging 115 PPG during that span – likely presenting a steep uphill battle for a Knicks squad averaging just 103.8 PPG across that same timeframe.

The Knicks haven’t caught anybody off guard this year though, considering New York ranks 10th in the East straight-up with a record of 22-21 SU and 8th against the spread with a record of 21-22 ATS – despite being favored in 25 matchups this season.
