MLB League Leaders Betting Odds

MLB League Leaders Betting Odds

There will be baseball this summer. After an extended lockout, the owners and players struck a deal on a new CBA. Two weeks of the season were canceled as a result of the dispute, but the league plans to have a 162-game season. That has led to bettors refocusing their attention on the national pastime and which players will lead the majors in certain statistical categories.

2022 MLB Home Run Leader Odds

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the favorite to lead the majors in home runs at +750. He is the reigning home run king after cranking 48 home runs in 2021, and he led the majors in total bases too. Guerrero should continue to get better, making him a solid bet at this price. Keep an eye on Joey Gallo though as he should see a power spike playing a full season in Yankees Stadium after the shift was banned.

2022 Strikeout Leader Odds

There will be a lot of missed bats in the Big Apple this season as the three favorites to lead the league in strikeouts play for either the Yankees or Mets. Gerrit Cole is the overall favorite at +450, but Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer aren’t too far behind. The best bet here is deGrom considering his dominance when he is healthy, and he should earn the honor if he can pitch close to 200 innings.

2022 Stolen Bases Leader Odds

Adalberto Mondesi led the majors in stolen bases in 2020. He missed all but 35 games last year as he injured both his obliques at different points, yet he still swiped 15 bags when he was on the field. That has made Mondesi the favorite to top the league in stolen bases once more. However, Mondesi’s inability to get on base consistently might open the door for Trea Turner to take this award. He led the National League in stolen bases in 2018 and 2021, and he can definitely surpass Mondesi if Dave Roberts lets him loose on the basepaths.
