New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres Betting Predictions
The New York Mets enter this matchup first in the NL East standings, eight games ahead of the second place Atlanta Braves. The Mets most recently went 2-2 SU in a four-game series against the Dodgers. The Mets struggled with their bats in the first two games, but managed to turn things around with 14 runs combined in games three and four. The offense has been on fire all season, averaging 5.10 runs per game. The bullpen was solid against the Dodgers and has an ERA of 3.59 on the season. The right-hander Carlos Carrasco is scheduled to start Monday. Carrasco is 6-1 in 10 games this season with an ERA of 3.63 and has given up 56 hits, 23 earned runs, and struck out 51 batters in 57.0 innings.
San Diego is currently second in the NL West standings, two games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place. The Padres most recently won three out of four games against the Milwaukee Brewers. San Diego had their bats working with 21 runs scored throughout the series. This is above their season average of 4.11 runs per game. The bullpen also played well, shutting out the Brewers in two games and holding them to nine total runs throughout the series. Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell is expected to take the mound Monday. Snell is 0-2 in three games this season with an ERA of 4.80 and has given up eight hits, eight earned runs, and struck out 18 batters in 15.0 innings of work.
This should be interesting series as the Mets are an excellent offensive team while the Padres have been great on the mound. I like the total to under in game one. The Mets went 10.0 innings on Sunday against the Dodgers and may not be able to get much going against Snell. Carrasco has been a bit inconsistent this season, but should keep the Padres bats at bay. Backing the under in this matchup.

New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres Betting Conclusion
I think the results of this game could go either way, but I do like the total to go under. I expect the Mets to be a tad worn out after playing a double header on Saturday and 10.0 innings on Sunday. The Padres offense looked great against the Brewers, but I don’t think they will have as much success with Carrasco taking the mound for the Mets. Backing the under in this matchup.
