Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees Betting Prediction

The Houston Astros are currently first in the AL West standings, 10 games ahead of the second place Texas Rangers. Houston went 2-0 SU in their most recent series with the Mets and have won seven of their last 10 games. The Astros managed to hold the Mets, one of the best hitting teams in baseball, to just five runs throughout the series while scoring 13 themselves. Houston’s offensive is averaging 4.3 runs per game this season, but have picked things up as of late, averaging 5.6 runs over their last 10 games. Left fielder Yordan Alvarez leads the Astros with a batting average of .315 (69-219), 21 home runs, and 51 RBIs.

The New York Yankees enter this matchup first in the AL East standings, 11.5 games ahead of the second place Toronto Blue Jays. New York took two of three games in their most recent series against Tampa Bay and have won eight of their last 10. The Yankees have been fantastic this season and have the second highest runs scored per game (5.1), the lowest team ERA (2.91), and have been the most profitable team in the MLB for bettors. Right fielder Aaron Judge has been a huge part of their success with a batting average of .300 (75-250), 25 home runs, and 50 RBIs.

This should be a great four-game series as these are two of the best teams in baseball. I think backing the under is the smart play in this matchup. Both bullpens have been dominant throughout the season and I expect that to show in game-one. I would give the Yankees a slight edge in this one as they have won 14 in a row at home, but will wait for a game or two to play out to get a better feel of where this series is headed. Backing the under here.
