The Yankees currently lead the American League East with a record of 70-36. However, New York has struggled away from Yankee Stadium, highlighted by their 29-21 mark on the road. The Cardinals are currently leading the Central division with 57-48 and a home record of 32-20.

The Yankees send LHP Nestor Cortes to the hill against St. Louis’ sixth-ranked scoring offense on Friday night (4.65 RSPG), who’s having the best campaign of his five-year career sitting 9-3 with a 2.53 ERA across 19 starts this season (1.02 WHIP), despite posting a lackluster 2-2 record and 4.15 ERA in June (5 GS, 1.27 WHIP).
